Toyota and dodge truck models come out early right now they are on 2013 model year clearance. Ford, gmc & nissan clear out trucks starting August.

That information I got from google so take it with a grain of salt (even tho everything on the Internet is the truth)

I have an anti-Ford bias from the 1990's and 2000's when they seemed to need a major repair every 5000km. However, I'm sure they've improved and it sounds like everyone who has a newer one likes it.
At the price point of the eco-boost - I would highly recommend at least taking a Sierra or a Silverado for a test drive - love the duramax. Decent fuel economy, all the power you need and lasts forever.
Plus - they look so much better!
My 1998 F150 XLT 4x4 beater with 300,000km that has never required a major repair says, take your GM bias elsewhere. Maintained properly Ford hasn't really had any issues in the time frame you state, especially with their trucks. It is likely to rust out before it dies out!

I really wish the newer F-150 would fit in my garage with more than a standard cab, I would have taken the plunge already.

I am a massive car nerd, and for years, I've been very much a Euro guy first, and then the domestics and imports sort of fight it out until they stack up on one side of my 'Would buy' line or the other.

Having experienced the F150 and the Tundra on several occasions, through several iterations of the product, I would take the blue oval. Every. Single. Time. No hesitation. And for me, it really doesn't stop at their trucks - model for model, there isn't a vehicle in the Toyota stable (save for the Tacoma, but I'd take a shopping cart rolling down 14th Street N over a Ford Ranger pickup) that I would take over the competing Ford.

I like the finish, the materials, the looks. The desire to give people both performance AND economy. I have ~440 turbocharged horsepower in my daily driver, so it takes a bit to get me going. There's nothing that Toyota makes that really gets my pulse elevated, but an EcoBoost Fusion? Hell yes. Letting the car be what it is, the handling and performance is exceptional for a car in its class.

Before I continue that tangent, Ecoboost Ford F-150. No question. Quiet, comfortable, double-cream smooth engine, and V8 performance with V6 economy. It's a thing of beauty.
