Agreed. If you are expected to hold it in while in a mens room, what is this world coming to?

Some back story:

I had a friend have one of these weddings, and the date was a week after our due date for kid #2. No problem for kid #1 to spend the day/night at the grandparents, but we asked about showing up with a newborn, and were told "no".

I couldn't help but feel that was completely ridiculous, and as a result of not going I have one less friend of facebook (he de-friended me). So stupid.

A newborn is probably the one type of kid that is pretty much invisible at a wedding. All they do is sleep and nurse.
Seems like I'm reading parents complaining "Why can't the bride and groom accommodate ME at their wedding?"

If someone doesn't want a kid and their wedding I'm totally fine with that, it's their wedding and they can do what they want... But they should also understand that maybe they'll lose a guest or two because of it and shouldn't be passive-aggresive losers when the invited turns it down.

I can understand location reasons (like yours I-Hate-Hulse), and cost for others. But when I see a wedding being hosted downtown at the Hyatt (mega-bux) with a family that can more than afford it I don't understand why they put the restriction on there.

Guess I'm floating into "gear grinder" territory on this.
Weddings for kids is the last great bastian of the free booby grope. Half the woman are drunk, and they all want to pick you up and dance with you or whatever, and in their mind you're completely no threat and its sooooo cute when you try to tune in Tokyo through their Brides Maids dresses.

Its entirely the last time that you can totally get away with grabbing as much boobie as possible.

This.

I clearly stated in my situation we had no problem getting a sitter for our 3 year old. But there was a very good chance we would have a 1 week old newborn (and we would have as our second child was born right on the due date). You don't just leave them at home with a sitter and go to a wedding (this wedding was also out of town in Canmore). My declining ultimately led to my buddy of over 15 years dropping out of my life and de-friending me on facebook.

Since my wife and I had our first kid we have attended a few kid free weddings, I was simply wondering why this seems to be a trend that has shown up more and more compared to what I remember from going to so many weddings as a kid growing up.
