What's really interesting is the number of people that want him re-signed, versus the number that want him resigned. On the surface, this thread seems to be predominantly in favour of keeping the guy around for another year or two, yet quite a few of you also seem to want the Flames to force him to retire...

I'd be shocked if he wasn't brought back. Hartley was quoted as saying that there was plenty of guys that he "liked" but McGrattan was a guy that he "loved"

I remember the day he was traded here and the thread that followed...it was hilarious how many people hated the move and the player at the time....even though there was a massive void on the club he filled.

Amazing what actually allowing some time to pass before making snap judgments can do.

I am 100% behind re-signing McGrattan. I would be behind signing Begin for another year too if I didn't feel it would cost Bouma some ice time. But if Begin is willing to come in as the 13th/14th forward (Jackman has a place in that role too IMO) I would welcome our regular 4th line trio back. Ideally they would all be used as wingers though.
