I play goalie in hockey and have tried as much as possible to emulate the greatness that is Miikka Kiprusoff. Greatest 'tender to ever wear the Flaming C, my idol, my all-time favorite player, my hero. Thank you for everything, Kipper!

I'm a Habs fan, first, as most of you know. I bought my first Flames shirt yesterday. It has #34 on the back. Amazing career, Kipper. Enjoy the fishing.

Might be 16 years of no playoffs if they hadn't got him. He was the guy that came in and got the team winning again. Glad to see him have a couple good games at home, and get a nice send off.

Iginla was the face of the franchise and rightly so. But Kipper was arguably the best player throughout his tenure.

Agreed. Our team Iggyless could survive, without Kipper we were F***ed.

I love the guy, but that's just not true. By the time Kipper came around, circumstances were on their way to changing. The upward trend of the Canadian dollar by that time had a lot more to do with it than any player. The Flames young players, with the help of Darryl Sutter, were also on the way up. There would be no 2004 run without Kipper....but there would be a Flames team here without him.

Fair enough but he is, imo, the catalyst of the '03-'04 team and the Flames resurgence in this city. Before that team you could barely give away Flames tickets.

That, for sure. He was the biggest reason for success that year...although one could argue that Darryl coming in and turning this organization into something resembling a professional team, also had a huge part.
