I would think the Flames have studied the designs of all the newer arenas to see what they have and what the Flames could possibly improve on. It only makes sense they would do something like that.
I think I'd feel pretty loose and focused if I knew my financial woes were taken care of for five lifetimes.
You'd be amazed how complacent a person can get about winning when they are filthy rich regardless whether they win or lose. It can be a real issue for professional athletes.

I was thinking the same thing. If Iginla needs help getting ready to play he might want to look in the mirror. Motivation and a desire to win comes from within and not what some arena has to offer.

Adios Iggy...was nice to know ya....now you are part of an enemy team and I don't cheer for you anymore. You could have had Penguin love 2 years ago and really helped out the Flames!
Here's to a first round exit by the Pens!

so do you actually know anything, what connection do you have to the organization? don't you live in New Zealand?
Mods can most definitely PM me if they want to. I'm not at liberty to discuss more, not do I feel the need to at this point in time.
And by the way, just because someone's tag below their avatar says something, doesn't necessarily make it true. In today'd digital age, location is irrelevant anyways. You should know that by now!

I'm sure we'll see for ourselves within a few weeks how impressive the Flames new facility is. After all, it's very far along and has been in the works for years. Imagine that new deck you've been working on for the last four summers that isn't quite finished. Now let your imaginations run wild.
I have talked to people and what muta has said jives what what I have heard. They are much further down the road then people would expect. (design wise)
just goes to show how antiquated both the dome and the current 'thinking' has been
onward and upward

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Yeah, let's totally use this as an opportunity to trash Iginla's motivation and leadership, because that's exactly what he is saying --he needed a newer arena to be motivated.
Lets face the facts, the Pens are a far better organization than the Flames in every way right now. They may have had some luck along the way but its still true. Iginla has upgraded big time.

He upgraded to a better team where he doesn't have to be the leader and the player who is expected to lead the team in goals and assists. I'm sure he appreciates that.
I have always questioned his leadership skills and felt he was too quiet of a person to be a captain. My idea of a captain is someone like Messier who wasn't afraid to lecture his team mates on poor play.

My sentiments as well.
Messier was very intense and driven, Iggy would probably have benefited hanging around a person like him; Going to another organization is probably going to open up his eyes in a lot different ways.
Personally I am happy for him I don't feel it is necessary to trash on him as some people do. He can say what he wants he gave us a lot of good years.
