Was listening to fan 960 bout half an hour ago, and the general consensus is no.
Personally I think it'd be a nice fantasy to have him back, but I think he's gone for good here.

no i don't think so Feaster and Weisbrod will gut this team unless they can't break players from moving off their NTC.
The team will be a seller dweller i hate to say it.
Their plan and even my own that this can be rebuilt through top UFA's with all the cap space isn't going to happen.
Iginla was the draw. Who will be left to be the draw for UFA's why will they choose Calgary.
These are going to be dark years ahead i'm afraid.
Iggy will be back in a Flames uniform again but only when he retires and they sign to him to a 1 day contract.
Sad really sad.

After he wins the cup he's going to sign in LA for 2 and then who knows.

Highly unlikely he comes back, but not impossible.

There may be a small chance at the end of his career (3-5 years from now), but I don't think the Flames even make him an offer in the offseason.

My money is on him coming back. His kids were born and raised here, he's got houses here and Kelowna, and owns part of the Blazers. He's too entrenched to leave at his age.
$20 bet that he treats this as a 2-3 month "roadtrip" and returns to Calgary after playoffs are over.

I think a couple of things have to happen before we could possibly see Iginla back.
First, he has to win a cup elsewhere. If not Pittsburgh this year then on another team after signing one-year deal(s). Doubtful Pittsburgh will have cap space to resign him for next season.
Second, some time has to pass. I think resigning him for next year is too soon. The Flames need to get their feet under them again without him and rebuild/retool/refit (or whatever the hell you want to call it). Select a new captain, build a new identity as a team and after all that's done bring Iginla back as a veteran leadership guy and close the circle.
Third, the Flames organization has to be willing to go down that road again. I think given time they would, so I voted "yes".

I really hope not.
Iginla is done as a Flame. Move forward everyone. We'll find a new face of the franchise soon enough.

Either at or close to when he is 40 if the Flames are a contender by then (one can dream) or when he retires and comes back to run this team.
Hes been a Flame for far too long to not be a part of this team, of this city. The only thing keeping me from puking right now is the thought that he will be back after he is done playing.

after watching his press conference i may have to change my answer. if Pittsburgh doesn't win the cup this year, then there's no way he signs in Calgary during the offseason. but if they do win or Iginla gets another crack at it within the next couple of years, i think we could see him return to Calgary just prior to retirement. he certainly left the door wide open for a return

The fact that the flames let Iginla orchestrate this deal lends me to think he will be back, also since his destination is the pens, slim chance of him re-signing. Add in the young family which isn't likely going to uproot to Pittsburg for this rental season, and the possibility looks promising.
I like Iggy back in a different role (no longer having to carry the team)
Of course the blinders could be fully on...as that is the fairy tale ending...
A poll would be interesting.

Nope.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence and will be for a while.

I hope not. I say that because once you move on you don't look back. I think he should spend the rest of his career with Penguins. He needs to make sure he stay with them after the playoffs regardless of the result. Calgary needs to find their new identity now and not try to hold on to the past

Only if he wins a cup, or Flames are magically a contender in his last season. I want Iggy to win a cup, more then I want him to return to the Flames.

Flames, this is on you to lure him back after his next contract with some top notch play.
Do it so we can prove that we are worthy of his return. He wants to win. But he's also always wanted to win with the Flames.
He'll get his first cup this or next year. But maybe we can make his second dream come true, and bring him back to a Flames team that is ripe to make a charge at the cup.
Yes?

Almost 1/2 of you believe Iginla will play again for the Flames?
Move on with your lives people. It ain't going to happen.
As I mentioned in an earlier post today, I believe Jarome would be embarrassed for all the grown ass men losing their #### over a hockey trade.

I'd imagine it'll be like Smyth and he will be gone for a few years then come back for his twilight. Maybe the team will be not terrible by then.
