Crosby was healthy (ish) in the playoffs last year. High octane offences have failed in the past in the playoffs. They need a goalie they can count on.

That all depends on the play of Fleury. I do think that Boston is there only real threat in the East though.

lol @ Columbus

7-0-3 in their last ten and have 30 points now, same as 8th but lose tie breakers.

Never would have guessed.

Good goaltending and a whole bunch of "nobodies" buying into an identity and system. Remind me of the 03/04 Flames a bit, but of course we had our star forward in Iginla.

I had an inkling they may be a better team defensively, given they had Bobrovsky in net, a deep defence and then a score by committee with no Nash offence. But I have been pleasantly surprised with their success. Especially given some of their injuries as well.

Quietly rooting for them to make the playoffs along with the Flames.

It was also pretty cool to be a penguins fan and watch the most entertaining, most skilled team in the league. My one friend quit watching hockey because he was so distraught over Ovechkin being exposed as an ineffective, one dimensional, lazy, stupid, selfish hockey player. It was wonderful. These days I really miss the rivalry though. I kind of hope Ovechkin gets back on the juice.
The same friends who have problems with their loose girlfriends?

Can't believe we let the hockey god go. Fire King!!

You are welcome LA!
To be fair, in addition to Sutter, a large part of the Kings turnaround last season was the acquisition of Jeff Carter. It moved all the forwards to a roll that fit each player perfectly.

It is a surprise, no doubt. I agree with what is said about Bobrovsky. At the beginning of the season, I thought he would be the make it or break it player for the BJs. They 7-0-4 on this streak, it's nice to see and good for them but, let's hope the streak stops on Friday as they play the Flames.

The Canucks hang on for the 3-2 reg win over the Blues. It looked like the Canucks 3rd collapse would strike again but the Blues couldn't get it done. The Coyotes finally score but still lose 3-2 in reg time to the Kings. Another dman gets injured for the Senators, no problem as they win 5-3 over the Islanders. The Panthers win 4-1 over Carolina and it would've been 10-1 if it wasn't for Dan Ellis and his 40 saves. The Jets get 2 quick goals in the 3rd period and beat the Bruins 3-1. The Rangers win 3-2 also in reg time over the Devils. Brodeur was on the bench and should be ready to play Thursday. The Devils can't wait for that as they went 3-8-2 with Hedberg. PK Subban takes a bonehead highsticking penalty in OT and the Sabres score the winner to win 3-2. Pittsburgh wins in reg time 2-1, Ovechkin gets the lone Capitals goal.
