Would be a big loss to the Wings, and for fans all around the league as well IMO. Fantastic player to watch.

I'm sure though, that some of the young guys the Wings have coming up are going to blossom into the next generation of Red Wing super stars, and that franchise will hardly miss a beat.

Tatar, Nyquist, Jarnkrok, and Jurco.....among others, I'm sure that org will manage to develop a couple of those kids into dominant players. They always do.

I talked with an acquaintance within the Detroit organization today. Regarding Datsyuk, she said they are no longer ordering any new merchandise with his name and number on it.

It's too bad that he'll be leaving. He's a hell of a player.

But we just lost Jarome Iginla. And that just doesn't even compare. So I'm not gonna 'feel bad' for Detroit, or anything.

Who's gonna rise from the ashes to contention first? Flames or Wings. There's no doubt that losing Pavel will hurt their offense immensely and I think they'll drop out of the playoffs, unless they bring in some new talent that can have an impact for their team by the time he leaves.
