My own marks (C is "met expectations")
Iginla - C. I'm not sure what people really expect out of him. Power forwards have the shortest lifespan and Iginla has made a reasonable transition from power forward to sniper. His hands are still there, but the legs aren't. He is starting to make a Selanne-esc transition.
Cammalleri - C-. Cammalleri's performance last year seemed to be a bit of an outlier...he put up points, but didn't seem as noticeable as his first tour. Now, outside of a few games, I can't honestly say I would even know this guy played in Calgary anymore.
Tanguay - C. I can't say the experiment of his as a centre has failed, but his defensive awareness just isn't there for a centre. He's also beginning to force passes over any shot.
Glencross - C. Same old, same old from Glencross. Can show up as a force offensively, but also can just forget to play the game, period. Reminds me a bit of Bourque these days.
Hudler - B. Talented and creative. The typical Red Wings forward. Brings a new dimension offensively. A bit streaky, but given the Flames' lack of...anything, he's a good solution, especially given the UFA price tag.
Cervenka - C+. I really set my bar low for Cervenka. I expected a guy who'd struggle even on the 3rd line. Cervena is better, but giving him such a mark isn't even saying he's that good. He's unconditioned and tired by the end of his shift, lost in his own end at times, and seems weak overall away from the puck.
Stajan - B. Good work overall and probably a career resurrection. Still a little weak on the wall, but seems to be a decent two-way guy.
Backlund - B. Another player with a resurrection. Backlund shows exactly why Sutter gambled on the injury. I suspect, like the rest of the Flames, he'll come back down to earth, but I like what I've seen from Backlund.
Stempniak - C+. Exactly what we'd heard him billed as: streaky scorer and about average NHLer. A little top up since he seems on pace to go back to normal.
Comeau - C-. I still wonder what happened to the hitting machine that he was last year (Most hits/minute as a forward, only 2nd to Jackman). Other than that, he seems the same grinding forward I remember.
Begin - C+. A walk-on addition inspires no confidence in me. He's shown to be somewhat of a useful 4th line player
Jackman - D. I wanted him to do...something. I don't even know what. He hasn't shown anything so far. Even McGrattan, a part time enforcer, jumped him.
McGrattan - C+. He does slightly more than fighting. Anything past dropping the gloves is a bonus for me.
Jones - C-. Everyone remember how some of us thought Jones could make the 3rd line? Never happened. He seems to have come back to earth. His little spat with Gelinas didn't help.
Baertschi - C. Baertschi is developing. He's small, but seems to be learning. Flashes of brilliance are all I really expected from him.
Horak - C. Size is a huge issue on Horak. Anybody got free lunches for him?
Bouwmeester - B. I really think this was the Bouwmeester we were supposed to get. It seems the green light for him to pinch under Hartley's systems is letting him put up points. Defensively, he's on and off against top line opponents.
Giordano - D. I'm not sure why, but Giordano went from less noticeable last year to visible for all the wrong reasons this year. Some claim it's an injury issue...I think it was a salary changeover.
Wideman - C+. Isn't the "liability" he was labelled, but I can see how that could happen. Occasional bonehead plays, but does a great job holding the line offensively. He can't drive a team, and his points seem directly related to how good the team around him is.
Brodie - B-. A pleasant surprise. He's improved again and has been a great sleeper pick by Sutter.
Butler - C+. For the money, not a bad player. Occasional missteps, but nowhere near as outmatched as he was last year.
Smith - C. Sheltered minutes and doesn't cost the team...that's all you really want from a 7th on your depth chart.
Sarich - C. Now the problem is that there are two players who are 7th on the Flames' depth chart. Good physical player, but brings nothing else. And I mean nothing. Regehr had more offensive ability than Sarich does now.
Kiprusoff - C-. I really did expect him to crater...but not this hard. Having gone through high school watching him, it hurts to say that I think this is the end of the road for him. Here on out, the goals are just going to get more silly and the god mode saves are going to be less common...I expected him to be giving up a lot, but I didn't expect his reflexes to be hurting this bad. Oh well...more Mackinnon for the Flames?

MacDonald - C. Consummate backup. Not enough consistency or overall skill to start, but can play the occasional game.
Irving - C. He's a positional based backup goaltender. Got a bit of a rough ride on the forums. His lateral movement needs to improve if he wants a steady NHL career though.
Taylor - C-. Really scary rebound control and didn't attend Kiprusoff's school of magic vision.
Overall: D+. The sum is worse than the parts. The D give up too many good chances, the forwards can't capitalize, and the team overall is starting to look like last year's. Just without the magic of Kiprusoff to bail them out night in, night out.
