Saddledome mimics Honda Centre ice quality so hard but the Flames can't get used to it?

Good effort, no luck. But this is sometimes the thing that separate the good team from a better team. Bring on L.A. and move on.

Good news: flames don't go back to Honda Center this year.

Bad news: Anaheim is a division rival next year.

I don't think anyone should be ready to count these guys out just yet after one loss, given their decent play as of late...but if we are sitting on the bubble come trade deadline I hope Feaster is smart enough to start moving the big pieces (especially Iginla). If he doesn't and we fall short of the playoffs, again, by a few points, he should be fired immediately!

Tonight showed the difference between a team with an actual NHL caliber first line and game breakers versus a team that ices a mish mash of 2nd and 3rd liners in their top 9. So much control and balance of play, but just no one who can turn the game or make that difference anymore. We need way to many chances to score compared to a team like the Ducks with real 1st line players.

Only saw bits and pieces but looked as if the Flames were in the Ducks zone, and puck wasn't bouncing in the right spot...Fasth made a couple reaction saves, one on a tip

Can't win every game, and yes, some defensive gaffes, and giving up the early goal were tough. But overall, seeing the first two and a half periods, they didn't pack the tent in after going down two, or three.

Where was the call on the cross check on Wideman on the third goal right in front of the net?

Tough to get too upset over a loss like that...by no means was ANA 4 goals better tonight.

It really sucks that the coach thinks highly of Comeau-ver and you got dead beats on this team in the likes of S-Faced, Tangs, and Mr Bean out in the ice doing the stupidest things and floating around. It's frustrating seeing Comeau-ver sucking up all the ice-time and almost every single goal that is scored, you see #17 sweater skating by the front of the Flames net. Kinda tells you why this team can't score against better teams in this league!

We hear this crap from some of the cheerleaders on this board after every game. Unlucky to lose, played a good game just didn't get the bounces, ran into a hot goalie, other team capitalized on turnovers, officiating sucked, blah, blah, blah...what is with fans making constant excuses for this team!!?

You know why they lost tonight?? Because this team sucks!! Sure they played the bulk of the game in the Anaheim zone...because they forchecked hard and cycled the puck well, they worked hard. In the end they lack the finish and talent.

Anaheim scored on horrible turnovers, and poor coverage...again...because the Flames suck.

So tired of all the excuses.

I'm praying for similar results tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that. Unless this team loses about 12 in a row, nobody is going to do a damn thing to fix this team.

If Anaheim didn't have the goaltending from Fasth, they'd be as mediocre as the rest of the bubble teams. Straight up. They were a turnover machine for a lot of the night..pretty bad. But luckily they have brick wall behind them, then Ryan and Getzlaf to pop in a random bad bounce at the other end.

Stupid, stupid crap. I wish for once the Flames would get rewarded for outworking a team consistently through a game when they come in as underdogs.

Right, well then I guess you can just add Calgary to the plethora of teams who have made Fasth look good this season...

Always the optimist. Yes I liked how the Flames came out in the first they were skating the Ducks into the ice. But no result, we couldn't even score one lousy goal. Flames were shutout, zip. How much optimism can you take away from that?

If you actually think that will help the Flames, then you might want to consider a change of religion.

This team needs a LOT more work than tinkering at year end and selling off a couple of vets. Be prepared to cry for a few years if that's your hope.

Flames should have won, Anaheim's big guns decided to show up for a few shifts and they end up winning easily. That game must remind some of our older fans of Flames games in the 80's, I've heard many times from my Dad about how the Flames would coast around for 50 minutes, decide that ya, lets win this game tonight, and score a few. That's what it felt like tonight, that no matter how well Calgary played, all Anaheim had to do was turn it on for a little bit and the game was over.

Happy that they get right back at it tomorrow, so people don't overanalyze this game too much. Lets hope they go out and kick some *** tomorrow night.

I'm no cheerleader. I hate the types that just blindly support this team even when it has shat the bed. This was a strange game that the Flames clearly deserved to win. We were the better team. Generated tons of scoring chances and honestly outside of that disgusting display by Giordano played some pretty solid defence. You're all acting like women on your rags.

There have been some awful coaching decisions made lately.
If Baertschi was too small to play against Anaheim, why the hell was Cammalleri dressed?

Bouwmeester was good for 15 games, now he's back to being a 2M defenseman.
Giordano... not sure what happened there but the wheels fell off the cart about 90 games ago.
Glencross has Bourque syndrome and is usually good for at least one dumb penalty per game. No one knows if he'll actually show up to play, either, or just float.

This team is worse than bad, it's mediocre, which means no playoffs, and no high draft picks.
Welcome to 10th place limbo.

Firstly calm down. Secondly, the Flames did not deserve to win, when you can't finish around the net you don't deserve to win a hockey game. All the hard work and determination in the world is useless without the ability to score.
