I love it when people talk like this. I can imagine this works well in a lot of places, but you would get crucified in my shop if you tried to talk to people like that.

I know this probably belongs in the unpopular opinions thread, but from my experience, women make terrible managers. They always seem to have favorites and will throw you to the wolves to save themselves.

I worked at a company where one small unit was entirely women, and managed by a woman as well. It was a powder keg, but so interesting to watch. The cattiness, and just petty hatred was really amazing. I wasn't really involved directly, but always figured if they just mixed in a guy or two the whole dynamic would've changed.

I see this from time to time. It is both lame and disturbing. I have had people come to me whispering that a certain policy change was their idea and not so and so's.
Unfortunately they are too stupid to realise that as executive director of the organization... I was the one who implemented the policy change in the first place.
( I have to admit that this is amuzing at times)

My company has some amazing female managers but the vast majority are horrible. They hold personal grudges, act like tyrants, try to throw their weight around when it's not necessary, brown nose and are 10x more political than most of the male managers. With that said, many of the most reliable, hard working, organized and intelligent colleague's of mine are women. I think the khunty tyrant women get promoted into to management as they are seen by the higher ups to be 'go-getters' that can 'make the tough decisions'.

I have a lot of respect for my manager, who is also a female. She works hard, is nice, and I would even go as far as to say she is a friend. I do feel that she underestimates me and males in general though. She is very quick to dismiss or tune out males during a group discussion when there are men and women involved, and I don't think for a second it is on purpose or part of a feminist agenda. One on one though, I think everything is fine. I certainly don't want to give anyone the impression that I work for a tyrant.
I do try to look at it from her point of view though. She has made it very far in a male dominated industry (she is technically the VP of the company now and the leader/founder of the Ontario division), and she did this all while raising a family and before the age of 40.
Anyway, I do appreciate the input from everyone and the chance to vent. In the big picture, it's not like I invented the wheel and lost credit for it. I am sure some of the people reading this have had worse situations.

Send your co-worker an email every morning claiming credit for some revolutionary idea like scissors, the internal combustion engine, post-it notes, email,or the like by describing it as you would a patent.
For example, "Hey, yesterday I came up with this great new idea, you take two blades with handles at one end and attach them in the middle with a hinge so the blades can slide past each other. I think his would be a great idea for a portable paper-cutter! Why don't we suggest this to the boss."
The most hilarious outcome would be if she was too dumb to catch on and actually did so, but even the passive aggressive irony can be satisfactory... And you can just keep doing it until you get bored or run out of ideas.
