He probably didn't intend to specifically cut his achilles tendon - I mean he's not Hannibal Lecter - but it does look like he used the skate intentionally. Of course it could also be a freak accident, so either way he's going to get away with it.

It wasn't intentional.

There are a lot of people who have never gone hard into the boards battling for position in any form of hockey while off balance. (in regards to "Why was the leg up")

Unintentional, totally and utterly.

Really? How many times have you stomped on someone high on the ankle? Happens all the time in the NHL right? It's possible that it was an accident but your argument doesn't rule that out at all.

It was a quiet Wednesday with only 2 games on the OOT. The good thing was in Canada all games, including the Flames games, didn't need CI. The canadian teams were on the TSN doubleheader (which will be repeated at 10:00 am MT on the NHL Network) and the all US game was on TSN2 and NBCSN in the USA. The Blues-Red Wings game was a great game to watch. These 2 teams have a great rivalry going. What a way for the Blues to end their 5 game losing streak winning 4-3 in OT. Steen scored the winner less than a minute into OT. The Blues were down 2-0 and scored 3 straight to take the lead before Detroit tied it. Each goal was different for St. Louis as their 1st goal was shorthanded, the 2nd goal was on the PP, the 3rd was 5 on 5, and the winner was 4 on 4. The bonus was 3rd stringer rookie Jake Allen got his first start and won, he only faced 17 shots. The Senators will be deflated after losing Karlsson and the game 4-2. Game was tied 2-2 after 2 periods before the winning goal was scored early in the 3rd that Cooke assisted on. It was the same score 17 days earlier and also in Pittsburgh. These teams meet again in Ottawa on April 22 and there will probably be a bounty put on Cooke.
