4-2 win for Calgary
Iginla wakes up and pots 2 G, 1A
Cammalleri scores
Cervenka scores
I've watched a couple of Dallas games and haven't been all that impressed. Hopefully Calgary will play desperate tonight.
Go Flames Go!

Dallas is a black & white team from the games of theirs I've watched. If Benn & Jagr are on their game the rest of the team seems to follow suit, where if they falter, the team's pretty flat.

I can't wait until the first intermission when the TSN Panel, Ward and Peca, say how crappy we are and how we should be following a 7 year Oiler plan.

Another important game. I know it's early but if we lose this one, we are starting to really fall behind early on in the season.
I just really don't want another repeat:
Crappy for the first 1/3 of the season
Amazing for the 2/3 of the season
Okay for the 3/3 of the season
Missed playoffs!

Why can't it be Amazing for the 2/3 season and above average for the final 3/3 of the season? and MAKE the playoffs.
We have a new coach and Kipper will be well rested.

The usual suspects show up tonight. Cervenka, Hudler, Wideman with a goal each, but it's not enough as Jamie Benn and Jagr wipe the floor with us.
6-3 Dallas.

i guess that can happen as well. However, when you look at the past two seasons, history is not really on our side. New coaching can make only so much of a difference, i think it has to do more with the mental state of the players on the team and giving it all they have till the final second of the season.

I think as long as Hartley has a better risk/reward system than Sutter which it looks like he already does than the mental state of the team will be fine.
Just look at Stajan this year compared to last.

The thing is though, is Hartley really doing that great of a job over Sutter so far or is it because we all hated Sutter so much that we have come to believe that anyone is a better coach than him.
We can look at Stajan from the past year to this year along with many other players aka Bouwmeester.
However, Cammalleri is struggling, Giordano looks lost, Smith imo hasn't been really good and Kipper was horrible to start the season. I agree it is still very early but it's not like everyone improved suddenly after the addition of Hartley.
Wideman, Hudler, Cervenka have been some of the best players on the Flames this season and Sutter didn't have the opportunity to coach them.
Keep in mind, before Sutter came here, many people thought we just hired one of the best coaches in the league. Dave Lowry came on board and people were calling this an "all star coaching staff" when there were rumours of Tippet being the associate coach. Sutter has done well in the past, while the Flames have been coach killers for a while now.

I was one of the happiest guys on here when we got Brent to replace Keenan. He was suppose to revitalize Phaneuf! Dave Lowry was meh. A guy who never played on the PP was to be our PP coach? that was a failure before it even started.
Dont' forget Brent had been given one of the best defenses in the league and a top 3 goaltender when he started. and then it went from there......

I think Iginla takes Warrener's criticism of him personally and comes out battling tonight. As long as we get decent goaltending, I think the team follows Iginla's lead and we win comfortably.
If Iginla plays like he did in the last 2 games, though, we'll get blown out.

I think w/o Ribiero and Ott we'll have a much easier time against Dallas this year. Jamie Benn is good, but if we can neutralize him we'll be good.

We're already 1/4 of the way to a MacKinnon/Drouin.
I've actually come around to being fairly excited for this, knowing our situation is quite unfixable at the moment with Kipper out until probably at least game 20, where he'll require time to get back to his old self, and Backlund whose absence leaves us paper thin down center.
I'm just looking forward to seeing more of our new/younger acquisitions and hopefully get an real indication as to who is going to help us in the next few seasons, as well as watching the Czechs work their magic on the ice. (Why hasn't Stajan been moved back there?!?)
However, I would not be opposed to a night where our old dogs step out of the dark and make the opposition look stupid.
Flames win. Iginla, Cervenka, Wideman, Glencross bring their games.
