'Hawks 4th line finally solve Rinne...it takes a Pred turnover at their own blueline...Marcus Kruger unassisted...1-0 'Hawks.

Duncan Keith lifts a soft backhander towards the net...the puck bounces off the image of Makataimeshekiakiak on Toews' chest and bounces past Rinne...2-0 'Hawks.

Kane throws one from the LW boards, and somehow, Rinne whiffs on the puck...3-0 'Hawks.

Chicago still the only team not to lose in regulation, and that's with 9 of their 11 games on the road.
Truly remarkable, especially with all the parity in the league nowadays.
20 out of a possible 22 points.
...and what the F is with New Jersey?
8-1-3, second overall in the entire league? Really?

Has to be a strong candidate for the Canadian Olympic team.

No. Not even close. The Olympics are not a great place for marginally skilled tough guys. He'd be a penalty machine.

The good part about Foss is he has been a fan since the Hawks sucked so he earned the right to be a spoiled lucky SOB. I only hope my faithfulness to the Flames will pay off in spades one day.

They were kind of a surprise to be there, it's not like anyone was picking them as Cup favorites.....sure they had 100+ points, but they were still a #6 seed.
Plus, many of their top players are well north of 30, and they lost Parise.
I don't think many people out there would have picked them to be leading the division that has the Pens, Rangers and Flyers in it.

You need to keep up with the times. He is tough for sure...but 30 goals last year....very good in the playoffs. He has 9 goals this season and plays a two way game. If he is marginally skilled....we have different evaluation methodology.

How is his skating? It's going to be a different game on the big ice.
Long ways off still really, but I can't see him being there. Just way too many high pedigree, super star Canadian players to wade through......even when building a "team" that needs to have different types of role players on it.
IMO

I do not see 4 better right wingers over the last 2 seasons from Canada IMO.

Maybe so, but there are a lot of elite Canadian centers, and I would probably count on one or two of them playing the wing for a tourney like this.

I get what you are saying, but it is hardly a shock they are doing so well. Plus, regardless of what many people out there might think of their chances to win their division, I guarantee that the Pens, Rangers and Flyers are taking them pretty seriously.

(A) *I* am just flabbergasted by the play of my team this season. I really thought that with Parise gone the team would have a much harder time scoring. Sure they aren't anywhere near tops in the league, but they are putting enough in the net to win. And that's without Kovalchuk doing much of anything.
(B) I am just flabbergasted by the amount of support the team has been getting. I really thought that with Parise gone the team would have a much harder time drawing a crowd. Yesterday was five sold out games in a row. I thought the Devils would be one of those teams hurt by the lockout hangover.
(C) As for David Clarkson, he's an awesome garbage collector. He doesn't score many pretty goals, but like Dave Andreychuk, he can screen, tip, grab rebounds, stuff pucks in, wrap arounds... he can turn nothing into something in the blink of an eye. All his other skills are average, but he's king of the garbage goals. And when you lose a skilled player like Zach, you have to depend on the getting some grinding, gritty goals more than the tic-tac-toe.
