But that throws the whole she was hitting the dog for no reason, and throws the dogs whole gentleness out the window.

Or rather than re-litigating this in the appellate court of Calgarypuck we could just take it as read that the judge isn't a complete moron, heard the accounts of what happened and came to a reasoned conclusion about what the best path to take was.

Come on, it's a dog, it attacked someone, maybe there are other issues better deserving of people's time and energy.

where do we draw the line?

Come on its just a circus freak, lets kill him and stop wasting everyones time.

If we're going to debate the story then lets see where the details point.

Well I guess we could draw the line with humans vs. not. But my point is, I am generally baffled by the sentiment "A dog attacked someone and is being put down! We cannot, as a society, permit such an activity without delving into the details and determining with complete certainty in the court of public opinion, on the basis of sketchy second-hand accounts from various news sources, whether this is the correct path!"

Dogs get put down for biting people as a matter of course, is this really a circumstance where everyone needs to get onside with it? Just seems like a lot of people really concerned about not much of a story. I read the thread and don't really care enough to second-guess the judge.
