I really, truly did not mind Sutter. Seriously. Yet I honestly think Sutter hampered his playing style. Sutter wanted to score a couple then sit back and hold it. He wanted everyone to play more of a defensive style of game. This is not in the plans for playing Bouw properly. I think Sutter actually was to blame for Jays poor play over the last three years.

I've been on the Hate Bouwmeester Band Wagon way too long to jump off this early in the season. I reserve my judgement until the end of the season. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

If the Flames make the playoffs with Jbo as a Flames, I'd say the curse is broken. Until then, he's still overpaid for the last 3 years that got the Flames nowhere (damn you Sutter(s)!!!). He definitely look awesome the first 8 games of the year thus far and a lot better than Gio!

Despite being a big fan of Bouwmeester's game, I actually enjoy this post more than I probably should. I think I appreciate the straight up conviction behind not jumping off the Hate Wagon just because the player had a good stretch.

Sutter did this to many players, he had zero clue at using a players strength,he had the most robotic system ever!

Bouwmeester was signed to be a franchise dman. It was thought that he was a great player stuck on a bad team. His years as a Flame proved that he was a loser who wasn't even a star dman. Florida built their PP around Bouwmeester and Bouwmeester was good but Florida's PP wasnt. Let me know when Bouwmeester ever becomes a significant factor to his team making the playoffs. I am happy Bouwmeester is putting up some points and I hope this makes him more tradeable.

Trading Bouwmeester now would be insane. The Flames now have a consistent scoring threat from the defence. Not something you should throw away. You would also be sending away a potential top rung defender for someone elses disappointing castoffs.
Let's ride this out and enjoy. Not sacrifice today for a future prospect.

I think the biggest change in Bouwmeesters game is his sudden desire to use his body. He is now actively looking for contact and it is helping his ability to win the puck.
It seems to me that Hartley found and removed the eggs from Jay's pocket, put them in his own pocket and assured Bouwmeester he would keep them safe until the game was over.
Whatever it is, there is no doubt that Jay Bouwmeester is playing the best hockey he has ever played in a Flames jersey.

I still don't like Jay Bouwmeester and eight above average games ain't going to change that.

How does a large defenseman play 23 minutes of the game against a rival and have what seems 20 minutes
in his own zone and not hit someone..... even accidentially

Come on we had to know the real Bouwmeester would show up when the intensity of a game like this game would arrive.
He was pushed around, out worked, and failed to clear anyone from out front of the net for every shift he was out there.

If he goes on another "hot streak" than I think we have to make a few calls. The wings NEED someone like him and I think he'd do great there. The Flyers could use an guy like him too... hec there are a few teams that could use a guy like him so the next time he plays a few good games in a row, think about trading him.

I don't get it. I thought he was coming around but yesterday was definitely a set back. Maybe Jaybo should play in a non contact league because he might win the Hart in that league.
He seems like he'd be the best shinny d-man the world has ever seen.
But then again, the whole team didn't show up last night.
I wonder if we should think about acquiring a solid, defensively sound rugged d-man and pairing him with Jaybo.
We can rely on the new guy to take all the battles in the crease and have Jaybo join the rush etc.
Yesterday showed that a Gio, Jaybo pairing is too easy for bigger more physical teams.

By far Bouwmeester's worst game of the season yesterday but the entire team had their worst game of the season. Just awful all around. 3rd game of the road trip against one of the best teams in the west. Accept it and move on.

You know you need glasses when you read the the title of the thread and it says "I really don't date Bouwmeester."
