Nice pics jordon. Looks so beautiful there. Everytime I see photos of places around the world, I ask myself "One life to live, why do I live here?"
Been to Banff?

I don't mean the townsite.

The mountains are an acquired taste maybe but I wouldn't give them up wholesale for sunny weather and a beach. [/b][/quote]
You are out of your mind... Comparing Banff to Hawaii in terms of outright beauty is a crime. Have you travelled outside of Alberta in your life?

Jordon I think that you are shortselling the Banff area a great deal. I mean you tell someone they have never been outside of Alberta, when at the same time I would seriously have to question whether you have really been to Alberta. There is much more to Banff than what you see on the highway - which is likely all you have seen if you are basically insultig Banff. If you have gone backpacking in the outdoors - done any mountain biking - hell basically done anything outside the township I would be ever surprised. And that is just the summer months in the winter you have lakes which actually freeze over (something you will never find in Hawaii where one could have hockey games - you have cross country skiing - and so many more activities.

I am not saying that Banff is more beautiful - but at the same time I would say don't sell short the beauty and the wonder that can be found in Banff.

I think you are just spoiled with having something as great as Banff so closeby that you don't realize what you even have.

How did I know you'd be the first to dispute my post? All I can do is laugh at your antics now..

I've been around Alberta (I grew up here for god's sake!), outside of Banff around Moraine Lake, ect. Hiked up the falls right before the Banff townsite. I don't just stick to the highway as you suggest... I guess you're right that i'm spoiled by having the mountains so close because when I come from a dump such as Edmonton and I see the Rockies as I drive in to Calgary it makes me feel good.

But the arguement that Banff is better than ANYTHING in Hawaii is laughable. It's not even comparable!

Look at this pic! I'd trade the rockies for that in a SECOND.

I am not saying that Hawaii isn't a very nice place, and a place that isn't beautiful in it's own way, but at the same time I think it would be almost ignorant to ignore the beautiful country that is in your own backyard.

I am looking at that picture and I agree that it is stunning. But at the same time you seem to be ignoring in typical Jordon fashion anything which for the most part resembles intelligent thought. Just as you say you are tired of my antics, I must insist that you offer nothing but pointless drivel that my nine year old cousin could come up with. You show me a single picture of Hawaii and say that as a result it is more beautiful than Banff. Hell look at this...

I wouldn't trade anything for that. I find there is more to beauty that can be seen by doing something you very rarely do in digging past the surface of an issue. I mean I find beauty in places other than blue skies and sandy beaches, beauty can also be seen in rainclouds and mud.

You seem to think that everyone has the same shallow defintion of beauty that you do. I respect that you think that Hawaii is beautiful - just as you appear to not respect the fact that Banff and the rocky is also beautiful and one could easily see how Banff could be seen to be more beautiful. But that is just my antics talking and I am sure everyone will agree with you that it is a crime to compare Banff to Hawaii.

Okey dokey MMM... You're saying I don't respect Banff and it's beauty? that's a load of shinguard... I never said Banff isn't beautiful and nor am I ignoring the fact that it is a beautiful place.

All I'm saying is that I (You know that thing called a personal opinion?????) think Hawaii is the most beautiful place on earth... more so than Banff. I am not saying Banff is the equivelant of a garbage dump..

If you haven't seen anything better than Banff personally, then of course you wouldn't trade it for anything else because you wouldn't have experienced somewhere better than Banff. That's why I asked Five-Hole whether or not he's been outside of Alberta... or even Canada really. It was an innocent question (Outside of my "Out of your mind" comment... sorry Five-Hole) that had nothing to do with you MMM.

To me, this wreaks nothing more than a snipe attempt fuelled by your personal dislike of yours truly... just as were your posts in my iPod thread... A thread that you seemed to dissapear from after I proved you wrong. A trend I've seen with you since day 1.

You throw on the wet blanket, get destroyed and disapear from an arguement that you created. What's the point?

All in all to sum up my PERSONAL Opinion:

-While Banff and it's surrounding areas are gems, Hawaii and it's tropical paradise one up it in terms of beauty, in my opinion.

People who've visted Hawaii, do you agree or disagree with my opinion? Now is the time for you to shut up MMM and let people answer my question.

Thanks. btw, did you get my PM?

A very crappy 2 megapixel Fuji no zoom Finepix. Worked well enough, but I really need a new one.
