Did Aeneas end up getting a white hat?
What happened with the Jiri card? Any response?

No white hat. I am more of a black or red hat guy anyways. Went to the interview, the ladies interviewing me actually cried. They were very touched by the story.
I had told them I did not want to go to the interview, and that I was not interested in the award but they talked me into it.
I made it clear that so many people on CP offered to or did help, and that if not for my wife's support I would not have been able to have the time to do anything. My mother helped by picking up my daughter from the school bus, etc. while we were around town, or out of town.
Tried to make it clear that I did think I was deserving. One other thing they got out of the interview somehow, was that I owned CP. could never seem to disabuse them of this error despite repeated efforts.
I guess 600 or so people were nominated and interviewed, not sure how many in the category they put me, Volunteer of the Year. I went to the awards, as they told me I had made the final three in that category, or final 2 I cant quite remember.
What a crazy event, it was like a euro soccer match. Different hotels restaurants and companies like West Jet had cheering sections with flags, chants, etc. wild.
As it went on I remember feeling very anxious. I was honestly hoping they would not call my name. Luckily a lady who drives seniors around for appointments and such was victorious. I felt huge relief.
Was happy to help out Petr and Patrik, would do it again for anyone, anytime; but really not interested in that kind of recognition. I was quite embarrassed by it all.

^ So you're saying we should cancel the petition for that knighthood, then?

No knighthood?!?
But we already ordered the horse, there's a dude making that long pointy stick thingy and a fabulous gentleman ready, and eager, to measure Aeneas for some historically accurate small clothes.
I guess I can cancel those first two things, but I'm sure I have no idea how to break this news to the last guy without breaking his heart. Perhaps Aeneas could just go to the fitting?

Yeah it was fun. Work the next day was a little rough though.
I hear there are quite a few around here more well versed in burning things down than us.
Sorry I missed you last time...

My last two visits to the Dome have come through the Buy and Sell forum. Always painless procedures, good priced tickets and friendly people to deal with.
For that I am very grateful.
A few years ago, I think it was 2007? When the Flames faced Detroit in the first round. A buddy and I emailed Ken King asking about tickets for game 6. We got a response from his assistant and were able to line up two tickets at face value in pretty good seats. This was my first Flames playoff game ever, so I was pretty excited. We were students at the time and were in the middle of finals, so we left Saskatoon in the morning, got to Calgary around 5, showered and out the door to the Dome. Watched the game, lost in double OT to Franzen's floater from the slot, slept for about 3 hours, woke up at 4 AM to drive home so my buddy could make his final at 2 PM.
We were in Calgary for a total of 11 hours and it took us 12 to drive there.. and I don't regret a second of it.. well it might have been better if they won, but it was still a great experience.
There was an awesome pic of it on CP posted afterwards, a view of the whole crowd, I had it as my background on my old desktop for years.. good memories.. anyway the whole thing came about because somebody on here suggested emailing KK. As an out of towner I never would have even thought about that. So again, thanks CP for a great memory.
