OK, so got the download working, did a speed test, and maxed out over 60Mb.
Upload is screwed up though, tech support said it's a known issue and they will have to work on it. Might not be fixed until the new year.
Right now, I max out at around 0.43 upload.

I've had this poor guy on the phone all day trying to fix this. He's clearly working his butt off, but every time he thinks he's fixed it, something else screws up.
I currently have
I didn't even know Telus could provide such download speeds, lol.
We've given up for the night, but he's going to call me back in the morning to pick up where we left off.

Basically, Telus acknowledged that this program isn't actually rolled out to the public, and is only being given out if it's asked for. There is apparently a "glitch" with the plan on their end, and it's affecting most people who get put on the plan. Basically it screws your upload speed because of an extra "0" in some code or something to that effect.
They are aware of the issue and plan to fix it before officially rolling out the program to everyone. Essentially, this is a beta test.
Problem is, I'm not willing to wait til February to have my internet working properly, so |I threatened to quit Telus if they didn't resolve it. Literally the only way to solve this, was to basically open up the restrictions on my connection by removing what they call, a QOS. With no QOS on my connection, I was free to get my full speeds (and a bit better). This is how I was getting 90+ Mb down for a few hours.
I was warned that if I reboot my modem, it would re-ask for the QOS to be applied, and the temp fix would disappear, and I'd have my issue again. They told me I cold operate in this manner until the official fix was rolled out, at which point they would contact me to let me know that all is good and my problem has been addressed and the QOS had been reapplied.
Internet worked great since last night and into this morning, when suddenly, my net went super slow in the last hour. I did a quick check, and now I'm down to 1.5Mb down / 0.49Mb up.
I'm currently on the phone screaming at Telus in the nicest way possible.
This has been a horrible experience, I gotta say. Shaw is looking better every minute

And now it's fixed again.
Like I figured, someone went in and changed it back. Only good thing was, with the notes in the system now, it's easy to put it back if it happens again.
Either way though, he says it shouldn't happen again and the problem will be fixed officially in January.
Frickin Telus, lol.

That's pretty comical, on a scale that only a telcom provider could manage.
Offer a service, don't advertise it since you are not able to actually provide it, and use a hack which can't possibly be good for users of every other product they offer just to make it happen.
Confused why they wouldn't just hold off and not offer it until they had it fixed, unless they just wanted some beta testers.

Isn't QOS something you can disable yourself on the router?

QoS on your network vs on the Telus network.

Keep in mind, you signed up for a "beta" service that isn't public. So you are going to get beta service, which means you'll deal with glitches and problems. That's part of the growing pains of dealing with that type of service.
This plans sounds pretty interesting though. I've been contemplating switching from Shaw for a little while, but was a bit worried after talks of the caps lowering in the New Year. I'm going to have to keep my eye on this to see how it matures.

Indeed, but if that is the case, they should be promoting it as such. Nowhere on their site, nor during the signup process on the phone was it ever mentioned that it hadn't been fully rolled out as of yet.
Anyway, small update, the plan is wonderful, been downloading and streaming and getting superb results. Highly recommend this one, as long as it works.

Doesn't work with Shaw, works fine with Telus.

Nice! I just RDP'd in from the office and checked that link. Was going to post my confusion at why it said my ISP didn't support this... but then I remembered I use a US DNS, so I switched it to Google's real quick and ran it again. Bam! I'll be checking this out on the weekend for sure.
(tl;dr version: won't work if you're using a DNS service for US content)
