I've known a few people break wrists learning, and my ex bruised her tailbone once to the point she was off work for two weeks, which means 2 weeks of lost pay. Stories like Russic's are all too common and easily preventable.

Do I wear all that gear now? No, but there's no way I'd start now without at minimum wrist guards/helmet.
Well I guess I've just never heard of anyone ever breakign their wrist. I also didn't stray from the bunny hill my first day so that probably helped me out quite a bit since you really don't get enough speed to hurt yourself.

Anyway, I just remember falling a few times my first time out. By the end of the first day I was turing both ways and pretty much ready to tear up the greens by my second day haha
