That 15,000 number is just the improperly documented people who entered Canada. People who came on fake passports or imposters on legitimate passports or those who entered Canada with no passports at all.

There are 10's of thousands of people in Canada illegally who entered Canada legally. If you are going to compare numbers make sure you compare apples to apples, not to mention the US population is 10 times the size of Canada. With how you compare numbers you remind me of Michael Moore.

Why don't you do some research on an issue before you start acting like you are an expert? Call your MP, ask him/her what issue the most comes up when they are out and about. Immigration issues will be top 3. Ask them what issue does their constituency office deal with the most calls about. Immigration will be top 3 if not the top issue.

The Federal Court of Canada uses the majority of it's time on Immigraiton issues, well over 50%.

But according to you these are not significant or important issues to the people.

I can't believe some people think this is a non-issue. ANYTHING that keeps the integrity of our borders and helps to impede any exploitation of our countries rules is a good thing. I heard about this on QR77 a month ago and I'm glad to see it's being taken seriously.

It was MP Jason Kenny on the Rutherford show and he said that it was actually legal immigrants who obeyed the rules and did everything legally, who brought it to his attention because they knew of many people who were cheating the system and who were able to stay in Canada off of our tax money. They were upset that they did everything legit, and the others cut corners. Good on those people and Kenny for taking this seriously.

No they haven't. All they've done is demonstrated their ambivalence towards the problem and they're meh towards the rule change... as in "We really don't care if they don't make this change... whats a few (as in thousands) illegal immigrants". Who really cares?"
