Very weird to read this. I knew May a few years ago, and this is inconsistent with what I knew. She had a different dog back then, but man, did she love that dog. No hint of abuse or even "tough love" with that dog.

I don't want to defend her - the pictures are brutal, and she plead guilty. Still, it's hard to wrap my head around this.

One of the articles did say the dog is now living with her ex-husband; not clear if he became the ex before or after this incident.
