These are recordings of L. Ron Hubbard that high-level scientologists shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars to listen to. This guy is an absolute pathological liar, a lunatic, and completely off the wall.
You know what scientology is against psychiatry, but did you know that scientology is also against Calculus? (Because Hubbard couldn't understand it). There's also all this gobblede#### about how the alien souls were frozen in alcohol and glycol and put into 3D cinemas to watch fake movies about Christ, therefore, Christ is not really real, but an implanted 3D movie that everybody had to watch 75 million years ago after we were exploded out of volcanoes or something. Also be sure to check out the clip where he is talking about galaxies and he pronounces it (so assuredly like he's the genius scientist he believes himself to be) gil-axe-ee.
He also talks about how people can survive on heavy-gravity Jupiter if they look like Eskimos, otherwise meat people like you and me would be pancakes. He also talks about how he was in the Van Allen Radiation Belt and while the clouds can be damp and cold, space is actually quite warm and Venus is where the aliens erase your minds.
Oh, and to tie into that smoking bylaw thread, Hubbard believed that cigarettes were actually the secret mass delivery system designed to cure radiation sickness after atomic wars and that not smoking actually causes lung cancer rather than the reverse because smoking was the cure for radiation and anti-smoking groups were actually destroying humanity.

Holy crap thats great news, I knew I was justified for telling all of those people to bugger off when they suggested I quit smoking.
I'll be back I need to go buy a pack

While all this is humorous seeing Cruise turn into a nutcase, the saddest thing about reading all these things on scientology is reading how they destroyed so many lives, causing so many people to commit suicide while extorting and squeezing every drop of money out of them, and harassing (with their own secret police), even framing and convicting those who tried to leave or critisize their church. Even Charles Manson was a scientologist (though they tried their best to destroy all records of this).
I read an MSNBC poll that showed that 41% of respondents wouldn't watch War of the Worlds. I refuse to watch a Cruise film again and I hope that Katie gets her head straightened out before she's sucked into this cult/extortion rackett.

I think Cruise looks like he's the one on Ritalin.
He's got that demented look on his face(Eyes Wide Shut he was pretty f*ed up, but that was acting), and eyes, he's been acting very oddly, and been on TV a lot in the last week, each time coming off as some hyper active babbler always gigling and barely able to put a cohesive sentence together.
Could be all that sceintology stuff, and that he doesn't have someone to regin him in, but he's really making and ass of himself these days.

Scientology was once raided by the FDA for exhorbitantly selling their own drug called "Dianezene" (from Dianetics) or something that was totally fake and unapproved.
Maybe Cruise is on something they created...more likely he's been brainwashed by intensive Scientology courses and aggressive auditing which can be hypnotic and trapping.

I am surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet either.
Tom is also supposed to be completely gay.
I always liked Tom, but once someone starts telling people how to live - it just raises my ire.
If I didn't love Scarlett before, I do now.

Cruise successfully sued someone who claimed a gay love affair with him . . . . so be careful.
He may be firmly in the clutches of a cult, but he's probably not gay.

It is all heresay. But people in the entertainment biz around these parts have said there is not even a shadow of a doubt and that it is all very well known.
Just heresay, but after hearing it enough from (what I deem) credible sources, then why not? Is it chance that every relationship he has had has been to help boost one or the other's image? Just pairings by entertainment guru's.
But I think this one is biting back - no one is buying Holmes and Tom is looking like a crackpot.
Knowing he may be gay, doesn't change my impression of him on the screen (I can easily believe otherwise when watching him). However, being a cult-crackpot? That makes his performances hard to watch.
Now excuse me, but my latest edition of People has arrived and I have to watch the Tivo'd episode of Entertainment Tonight before Celebrity Justice comes on later ...

The story goes that Travolta is supposed to be very much homosexual or a bisexual at least. But he is deathly afraid of the Church exposing his secret (damaging information released is an implicit thing for people who leave the church) so he plays a very good frontman, sticking with them, and even marrying a scientologist in order to combat those allegations which have been made by several people including male porn stars.
And Scarlett was cool until she got it full on an elevator with Benicio Del Torro LOL. yuck

Nicole Kidman was married to him I wonder if she was nuts too or if that was one of the factors in their marriage breaking up. She may make horrible movies, otehr than the ones she was in with Cruise, but she at least got out of the marriage before Tom completely lost it publically.

Well not to really defend Cruise but there are many conditions that are considered a psychiatric disease that can indeed be controlled or even cured through proper nutrition. There are several studies outlning just that...especially in the case of hyperactivity in kids. It isn't surprising given the body is essentially made up of and runs through a collection of chemicals. If those chemicals are out of whack through some sort of mineral or vitamin deficiency (or excess) you have to expect things to happen.
There is also very little question that Psychiatry as a science has been unwilling to look at these alternative control mechanisms seriously until very recently when some big name trusted researchers began verifying data and coming to the same conclusions that were considered simply old-wives tales (especially in kid behaviour). And really it is funny seeing as they themselves use chemicals to modify and control behaviour that they would be so reluctant to explore all the potential causes to the underlying imbalance of which nutrition and acitivty can be such a cause.
That said, Curise goes completely overboard the other way as many "fanatics" do by simply condemning psychiatry as a pseudo-science. Psychiatry has some very good things to teach us and has developed some very good treatments...chemically and otherwise. Nutrition though working in many cases and for many disorders is not a universal cure all and it probably never will be as the other big factor is bound to be genetics. Some people do need other drugs to control behaviour and make them able to live life to the fullest and be contributing members of society.
|
That's all well and good but when he gets into this "psychiatry is bullshinguard" stuff what he's really trying to do is promote the cult he's been sucked in to.
I saw clips of that interview with Matt Lauer tonight and I came to the very well thought out conclusion that Tom Cruise is a crazy person.
Hopefully Dawson can save Katie Holmes before she really falls under the "Cruise Control"*.

Ummm that's what I was saying. Perhaps you missed the part where I called him a fanatic and that he goes way too far to the extreme. I thought fanatic pretty much covered him trying to lure people into the cult.

What is so great about Katie Holmes anyway? The only thing I know her from is teeny bopper Dawson's Creek.
She's not hot, she's a 3 out of 10. She should change her name to Katie Homely.
Nicole Kidman seems like a really nice normal person, I wonder how she wound up with goofball Tom Cruise. Or maybe she is a bit crazy behind the scenes too.

Katie Holmes is waaayyyy better than three out of 10. And like I said earlier in the thread Nicole Kidman careerwise was lucky to be with Cruise. She has done nothing but crap without and even the three movies she did with him weren't that great.

What do Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, and Katie Holmes all have in common?
Hollywood women who are paired with a lead hollywood man to help boost their careers. Worked very well for Nicole, helped boost Penelope's name, and now the same with Katie. Meanwhile it keeps the Hollywood man very current and women-fans swoon as he falls in love again.
Hollywood was doing it back with Rock Hudson.
