Age doesn't miraculously make you mature or more intelligent; as evidence by the third person involved, who is 47 years old.

I'd agree that age doesn't necessarily bring with it wisdom, but I would feel that while that 47 year old should know better, I don't really expect the younger two to have the life skills to know how to deal with young children. I'd say there is a difference between babysitting and working with kids in a daycare.
The only way I would see it appropriate to have them involved in a daycare is if they were in university working on a degree in education or something similar. I just don't see how people of that age can really handle and educate children. Maybe the daycares in the states are different, but the ones that I have used in Calgary seem to lean towards learning, helping kids socialize and develop skills for dealing with each other, respectful play, etc.
Anyway, I watched this on the news and it looked more like a dayhome than an actual daycare, so that explains some things.
