Man, I remember ordering bannock with cheese at the stampede one year. It was like $8 for a piece of bread with a superstore cheese slice on it. Hopefully the CC put forth a little more effort than that.

But the deal breaker for me was the mens' washroom -- it was absolutely disgusting. There were two toilet stalls, one was closed up and marked "Out of Order", the other should have been declared Out of Order too, because it was not working either (and there was no toilet paper in the stall anyway, nor anywhere else in the washroom).

Behind the two dirty urinals was a wall completely filled with obsence graffiti, black marker/paint on a white wall, and by the dates left by the graffitti "artists" this had all been there for quite some time. Even the ceiling was covered in graffiti, and there were cigarette burns everywhere. The washroom was also filthy, one of the sinks was not working and there was a single roll of paper towel on the sink counter to use to dry one's hands (the dispensors were empty). For a restaurant of this size it is completely unacceptable to have essentially no washroom facilities

Four people have been charged with arson in connection to the fire that burned down a popular restaurant on the Trans-Canada Highway.
An adult, 20, and three youths — aged 16, 16 and 13 — from the Stoney First Nation have been charged by RCMP with arson for allegedly burning down Chief Chiniki restaurant on Aug. 21st.

The greatest thing Chief Chiniki ever did for me was introducing me to the term 'Jewish Lighting' back when it first burnt down. The day I get to use it in conversation will be a highlight of my year.

Chiniki re-opening soon. So damn excited to still never stop in there.

The Chief Chiniki restaurant could open as soon as next month, says Chiniki Band CEO Lindsay Blackett. The restaurant is on a Stoney Nation reserve approximately 60 kilometres west of Calgary, on a hill overlooking the Trans-Canada Highway. For many years it served as a rest stop on the drive between Calgary and Banff.

We stopped at the convenience store there once, to use the washrooms, after the other place burnt down. That was....... Figured we'd rather soil ourselves than ever stop there again.
