Isn't this the whole problem though... the assumption that by default, caucasian is race 'neutral'.

I would bet that someone who is asian, or black or aboriginal might consider 'white' a race.

This is the same type of focus group that thought a DNA strand was sex beads. In the end, I really don't care if they had left the Asian or change it to the Caucasian.

If I had my say, they would have put Banting on the bill. That would be a change worth doing.

The woman pictured on the bill looks pretty ambiguous to me. She could be any of a number of races.

Is it really a negative to stereotype a race as being good at math and science? Maybe we should re-start some railway projects and really ramp up the Asian oppression in our society.

So Canadians in the focus groups complained that an Asian-looking woman couldn't possibly represent a face of Canada. And now Asian groups are saying that there is a stereotype of Asians excelling in math or science.

Can't win.
