I'm not sure if I follow; "the West" is instigating mass civilian casualties to legitimize regime change. Do I have that right?
Why does this phase of the plan require last at least 14 months?
Attrition to their military with sensationalized media reports of combat?
I watched BBC news every day for two weeks when they had a BBC reporter sneak into Syria against the regime's wishes. That story didn't support like this predictable argument of blaming the entity that is capable of the most deception.
Assad is a brutal dictator that is suppressing dissent - that should not be in dispute. The underlying cause is oppressive dictatorships, not the manner of assistance the oppressed citizens are getting.

I find this report to be more a plausible take on the scenario: Assad is acting like a brutal dictator, dissidents among the population and military are revolting with foreign aid, and local zealots (including Al-Queda whom Assad had condoned) are furious with everyone.
