In my house we obey the laws of thermodynamics. That heat is completely useful to the occupants. Just because you can't feel it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

don't mean to derail my opwn thread, but is there a similar law that applies to "silent (but deadly)" farting? i mean you can't hear these bad boys, but the smell it is some kind of awful

A bit OT, but ihave you looked into those "instant" hot water systems? My neighbour l loves his. Says the hot water never runs out, and avoids the other problems associated with a hot water tank.
