That's by far what pisses me off the most. Especially when it's not a huge stretch to assume the jumping on top of the car was the straw that broke the camel's back here and set the cab driver into get-out-of-here-at-all-cost mode.

I'm glad the Judge appears to be on the cab drivers side because from other articles I've read it sounds like the police were/are really out to get him, but that could just be the articles bias. Ideally neither should be for or against the guy but far better to have some sort of balance.

Edit: After watching the close up video, I'd side with the cabbie (if no new evidence surfaces). He may have made a poor decision in not leaving earlier but at that point, after having his car kicked, some guy trying aggressively to open his door and that ####en idiot jump on his roof, he looks like he just wanted to get out of there for fear of his own safety,

While i get that, he still used his vehicle as a weapon.

Both parties are at fault, one guy ends up in the hospital, the other probably gets deported or something.

after watching both videos, to me it appears like the cabbie was acting in self defense. The idiot got what he deserved. 1 drunk idiot is one thing, but there were obviously more. People trying to open his door and jumping on his cab. Had they gotten a hold of the cabbie the video would probably be of the cabbie getting beat up by a mob.

This is a hard call to make. I'd almost be tempted to call it a wash. Drunk fools acting like idiots got a lesson in reality. Scared guy used the means at hand to quickly and safely remove himself from a scary situation. I know I'd have a hard time judging this one, though I'm really not partial to drunk fools.
