While it's not do or die by any means, I do think it's important the Jays take advantage of the favorable schedule right now. Losing another series to the Orioles would definitely be a stinger.
In May things get a lot tougher for the Jays and if they want to be in the Wild Card mix it's important they beat the weak sisters of the league.

I really like the versatility the Jays have with rotating players in and out of the DH position, and have a regular able to fill their position...

Escobar is a hothead, and his emotions will keep him from being a great player.

Jays really need to figure out how to hit the ball. It's getting ridiculous that after almost a full month, that all the players are still struggling to hit.
It's a wonder that they've won 10 of the first 17 games.

Well then I guess we will just have to settle for him being a really really good shortstop

He could be better, that's my point.

It's been a frustrating two games to say the least but the team is still 10-8 and I'd much rather the reason for that be pitching then hitting. Frustrating to watch none the less but it is going to get better

Because they're really not that good a hitting team.

I agree, but they are better than the .200 or so that they've been hitting at or whatever.
As a team, they should be .250-.260 give or take. Just a bit ridiculous that they've been that bad offensively.

Really? Realllly? Someone makes that point and then someone actually agrees? Ugh......The team that was 6th in runs last year is not a good hitting team? A team that did that with Corey Patterson hitting in the 2nd spot for a good chunk of the year and Arron Hill at 2nd base. Dear lord......do we need to replay the Small Sample Size song again?

Why do we care about last year? Looks like teams have adjusted and the Blue Jay hitters have not. Baseball is an everyday game of adjustments and gameplan. Baseball is a small sample size game.
I agree with you that a hitting slump is better than a pitching slump and the pitching has been quite impressive.
But scoring 1 run in two games against the Orioles, a team most of us openly mock, is just embarrassing.

Still no idea why Eric Thames is batting higher then EE in the lineup and why in the world Davis was pinch running for Lind when he was not the tying run in the 9th. Also not sure why Omar Vizquel is on this team. And Lawrie is off to a truly awful start this season, almost worse then Thames and yet nobody says a thing.
'
The runs are going to come, it's just very frustrating. Drawing conclusions after 18 games about this team not being a good hitting team is pointless. I'll just sleep well tonight knowing this team is 10-8, in spite of the slow start by the offense.

We openly mock because their franchise has been run like a video game by children for a decade now. They deserve to be mocked.
Baseball is a small sample size game? Are you kidding me? Baseball is the furthest thing in the world from being a small sample size game.
Who cares about last season? I care because you can actually draw conclusions from 162 game schedule then 18 games.
