Orioles go back up 6-5 with a 2-out, 2-run single.

That was somewhat stupid.
Yes, our closer is ready in the pen, but lets keep our 41 year old pitcher out there.

Corderro is not the jays closer
Oliver's age means nothing considering how good of a pitcher he's been.
Betemit's OPS is .683 vs LH, .814 vs RH. It was the right play

E5 grounds into a double play to end the 8th. Frustrating 8th inning to say the least. Davis leads off the bottom of the 9th...if he can just get on base.

Hopefully they can do something in the bottom of the 9th. Thought that the decision to leave Oliver in after he walked the bases loaded was puzzling and ultimately, the turning point. Good pitcher but didn't have his best stuff tonight and after putting two guys on should have been pulled for a righty on righty matchup.

Again, the matchup was to put the lefty against Betimit. He had just got that big strikeout, no reason to think he couldn't get another out. Farrell makes some questionable moves, but not sure this is one of them.

Jays again put up a fight in the 9th but lose. Not a pretty game all around but nice to see the bats come alive a little bit.

Will be exciting to see Alvarez go again tomorrow. Baseball truly is the best sport for not letting losses linger or hurt for that long, because 9 times out of 10 there's another game tomorrow.

He hadn't just got a strikeout - he had just walked Wieters to load the bases. He struck out the guy before that and gave up a hit to his first batter, put 2/3 batters on and then 3/4 to finish up. Made a good pitch to get the K but I think he even ran the count full there too (foggy Saturday morning memory). I thought he looked like he didn't have his best stuff from the get go.
Major oversight on my part - I didn't realize Betimit was a switch hitter so I see the logic statistically, even though I think that statistical analysis alone without reading the situation a little will sink you. You can't just be a slave to the career numbers if a guy looks crappy on a day, which Oliver did.
Hopefully today Alvarez looks as good as he did in the home opener, goes a long way towards stabilizing the rotation.

Wilner had a great conversation with Morrow and he was very candid about his diabetes and how it effected him last night.
First pitch on the way. Let's Go Blue Jays!!

Alvarez hits Jones to load the bases. This could get ugly early
