I do dislike them but you are right. The thing is, the reason I dislike them is it seems so bizarre to be like "the ______ (in this case lynx) is a mysterious, beautiful, wonderful animal that is beautiful to look at and actually makes me proud to be a Canadian. It is nature's wonders such as the lynx that give me an ounce of faith in this wondrous world and all of its magical creations....

Just seems weird to me.
