I have an Uncle that was a long serving Provincial Politician (not this province) and was then a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons for a stretch.

Anyway, as for me... Chuck Fipke was a family friend in Kelowna, and he got me drunk at his house when I was a youngling. He also called our house about 50 times over the course of 2 hours because he needed my dad to help fix his electron microscope.
Also graduated from the same high school as Josh Gorges, but never met the kid.

I'm related to Jean Chretien somehow. Also went to high school with Josh Bailey's brother.

For the hunters on CP, my dad is the current typical whitetail world record holder according to the Buckmasters scoring system. For a time in the early 90's it was thought he might have the new Boone & Crockett typical whitetail world record, but it wasn't meant to be. Still say his deer got jobbed!

I met Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip when they came to visit the Synchrotron in Saskatoon back in 2005. I shook the Queen's hand, gave her a bouquet of flowers and asked she me if I had ever been to England. It was awesome. My mom worked there, and the kids of the employees were the first ones to greet her after the President of the University.

My uncle worked for the Oilers in the 80s, and remains friends with a number of then. After one of the Cup victories, Marty McSorley brought the Cup to my grandmas, and I have pictures of me sitting inside the cup. I was like 4 or 5 years old.

I've met every prime minister going back to and including Pierre Trudeau.
I've run two sub-three-hour marathons.
I know Slava, Stang and VladimirTheImpaler.
I've been elected to political office seven times.
I have a photo of me holding the Stanley Cup over my head.
I own the most famous Edmonton Eskimos helmet in team history.

I was on a couple Sesame Street Canada vignettes - all were shot at a vacation farm not far down the road from where I grew up. One was a "day on a farm" episode, one was a birthday party and another one was singing "The Cat Came Back" with Fred Penner. Pretty sad I hit the pinnacle of my life at age 8.
