Yeah, I tend to do that before breakups, it just makes things easier, I also tend to buy space in the obituraries and post my own death notice.

So today I caught someone cheating on a mid term exam... it was so obvious that it blew my mind... the girl was looking at her phone. I didn't know whether I should of reported that person or just minded my own business. It just amazed me since it was the first time I actually saw someone blatantly cheat in that type of method.

This sounds like something from High School.

Break-ups take maturity. It's not difficult to be friends with an ex IMO. I'd argue it's actually harmful to cut them out entirely.

My ex (recent) and I have remained friends; granted we were like room mates for the last 18 months of the relationship.

I have had tumultuous relationships and when they ended it was best to cut off all ties.

Why is it harmful to cut them out entirely?

I don't think its harmful one way or the other if you keep in touch or don't.

If there are no kids or money involved, cast the boat loose and move on with your life if there's no reason to keep in touch.

That whole, I hope that we can be friends thing is just one party either trying to make themselves feel better about theirmselves, or keeping a manner of hope and control over another person.

I have enough friends, I don't have a reason to be on call or be attached to someone that I was in a relationship with that probably ended badly and with hurt feelings.
