The toughest part for me is seeing full service gas for 36.4 at Regent in the music video.

If they can have SAIT/Alberta College of Art and Design / Jubilee station, they could have Eamon's Camp at Tuscany. Sounds like wild west meets rustic Italy.

Ummm you can't be more direct than SAIT/ Alberta College of Art/ Jubilee.... It's the next stop thats the problem. What the hell is a Lion's Park?

I'm fairly certain people have gotten on the LRT with SAIT, ACAD or the Jubilee as their destination. Some of them will have found that station name helpful.
Zero people will get on the train looking for Eamon's Camp.

I believe what he means is the station would be called "Eamon's Camp at Tuscany".
Lions Park, I have no idea, I can't even find anything that says it's the name of the community. As far as I'm concerned, it's North Hill Station - it just happens to be called Lions Park.

The community is Briar Hill. I really wanted to move there when we first got married, but my wife wanted to live a block next to Market Mall. The price in Briar Hill is insane now! boooo

The city has had years to decide what to do with Eamon's. TI has been involved in the design of the station the entire time. You've gotta think they've thought this part over many times.
Personally I like that they kept the sign. It's the most iconic part of the site to me. The rest would be tough to incorporate.

A station's name doesn't often incorporate the name of the community or the biggest nearby landmark. People seem to find their way to McMahon Stadium and Motel Village by making their way to Banff Trail without the station name guiding them. Lion's Park is another one. Victoria, Erlton, etc. I can't imagine that a commuter would stand at the route map downtown unable to get home because they want to go to Tuscany, but the train only goes to Eamon's Camp.
Whenever I travel in other cities, I find out the place I want to go, then the nearest station, and figure it out from there. Rarely do the two match up.
That being said, I don't really care what they call the stations as long as they don't do the stupid hyphenating. I'll take anything over "Tuscany - Rocky Ridge - Royal Oak Station". Luckily they are apparently just going with "Tuscany" which makes sense.

I just meant that long drawn out station names exist, why not another one - especially if it's cool-sounding. Tuscany....boring!

I would totally be behind Eamon's Camp at Tuscany if that sign is there.

This is a good sign (pun intended). I'd like to see the building remain on or near the existing site, but the fact that it won't be demolished is a big step forward.
It would be really cool if the city could find a use for it as part of the park and ride lot. Not just keeping the building, but using it as a proper, functioning business of some kind. A cafe and convenience store would be a great idea, although aside from peak commuting times, it might be a challenge to get the traffic there to keep it open. But the surrounding community can also visit it in the evenings as opposed to driving to Starbucks at the nearest big box place.
Heck, I live on the North side of Tuscany (yes, suburban parasite), and it would probably be as close (once the station/bridge is done) as walking to the shops in Tuscany. Plenty of people sip on their lattes in the Starbucks on any given night, so why not a nice little cafe there?

I'm pretty sure Calgary Transit has a mandate to keep businesses separate from the stations.

That's unfortunate. So many other metros/subways that I have ridden on have all sorts of amenities in or near the stations and they become a hub of activity. Not to mention, leasing the restored building to a business could potentially be an additional revenue stream, increase activity near the station, reduce crime, etc.
I do recall there used to be little convenience kiosks within some LRT stations years ago, which was handy for a quick newspaper or tickets.

So the latest is that the city will be moving the building off site instead of demolishing it, and then seeing how they can restore it and re-incorporate it on the original site. That's a pretty positive step.

Late to this party, but count me as part of the group that says old =/= historic. Some old buidings are historic, but a gas station that nobody bothered to tear down is not. If you like the look, you can build something new in the same style, and you've lost nothing.
