It was pouring rain for a good chunk of the time that I was there, which was perfect. Everybody stayed inside and I got to walk around without the crowds! I agree though, Venice can be done in a day, two at the max.

Rome is a big city, but most of the cool stuff is within walking distance of the historic center. And there's lots and lots and lots of cool stuff. You can (should) spend at least 5 days in Rome seeing all the stuff and eating all the food.

Having lived in Nice last year I gotta echo the Paris/French Riviera idea. I could easily spend the whole two weeks in either place but the combo will give you the best of both worlds. Paris gives you that lively, big city feel, while the Riviera will provide you with some awesome laid-back beach time. Hands down this would be my first choice.

My 2nd choice is the Greek Islands. Spend maybe a day in Athens (which isn't terribly nice) and take it a few sites. Then ferry down to some combination of Mykonos, Ios, and Santorini, you really can't go wrong.

If you do have to go somewhere in Germany, head to Berlin. Although you probably won't be there for the same reasons as I went (techno and currywurst), its got alot going on and is just a really "cool" city. I know it sounds weird but if you do go here don't miss the big flea market thing they have every sunday. It's sound super lame, but I don't think I've ever had more fun people watching in my life plus the street performers there were awesome.
