I have some stuff I can donate. My wife and I have already talked about it and we were going to donate all of Derby's stuff to the SPCA or of some sort. I have a large breed dog kennel, big bag of Kirkland dog food (never opened) and some other small stuff. I also have a home made well built dog house. I don't think I can donate it but if anyone was interested in buying it, you can have the money for it. PM if you could use any of these items.

Ryley is sad to hear this and hopes the little fella gets well soon.
Ryley says he doesn't have any money to give but you can have his gorilla though...

So it looks like our answers will now come tomorrow. The vet is consulting with an orthopedic surgeon but I guess he's technically on holidays so his responses aren't coming quick. Either way they will be doing the work tomorrow, but it looks like no quote until then.

Poor dog

After struggling with our choices, my wife and I decided to go ahead with the surgery for Buddy. They operated this morning. Pins had to be put in his leg as well as some repair to the tendon. I'm just glad it's finally done and he can start healing and not be sitting in a kennel with a broken leg and pelvis.

As for the quote, it's not as bad as we thought it may be but it's still more than we can afford. The vet is going to meet with us about possible repayment plans and my friend has generously offered to pay some of the cost, even after I told him that he was under no obligation.

All in all, it looks like Buddy will recover and live a good life. Thank you again to everyone who offered to chip in some dollars for his care, and for all the kind words and wishes. if people still want to generously offer, I won't say no and I can't express what it means to me. But I don't want anyone to feel like they have to whatsoever.

If I were more computer literate I'd post a photo of my lab who wants to help.

Mayer, fire me a PM with an email address and I'd be happy to make a contribution.

I'm not a dog person at all, but between this story and the one about the frozen dog it's all pretty sadening. If you have a paypal account or can do e-transfers via e-mail, fire me a PM too and I'll make a donation too.

It would also help if we knew the quote amount, so we have an idea of what we need to try and raise for you. And you can give us a running tally. I always find when ever I am doing fundraisers, a tally board always gets people more active in donating.

It would also help if you got a former but now washed up sitcom star to run the tally board. I always find that makes me more active in donating too. If you can't find that, the regular tally board will do...I guess....

Good point, pylon.

The quote is for $1500, and that includes everything including his visits that he will have to have after the fact. He may also have to have his pins taken out and that would be covered as well.

So far I've been transfered $50.

I can't say thank you enough to you all.

I don't have money to donate, but I can do this!

Will update image as totals come in, unless Mayer would like to, of course.

Will just keep replacing the image, so if you want to put a copy in the OP, or in every post that someone makes a donation. Up to you. If you do want to generate them yourself, just click the image and it will take you to the generator that i am using.

I was never really much of a dog person, and never really understood dog people until we I got a Labradoodle at the end of 2010. Long story short I lost my dog in the divorce settlement and can't believe what a huge part of my life I'm now missing. On behalf of Bailey and myself, we wish Buddy a speedy recovery and would love to help out with the vet bill.

Add another $100. Thank you burn_this_city. Can't express my gratitude.

(as a side note, if anyone doesn't want to be mentioned publicly, please let me know)
