I see taser as a very useful and non-lethal tool for the police, the CPS is looking into acquring some taser guns and I would say it's better they use those when necessary than to pull out their real guns when some psycho is waving a knife in their face. I'm sure no police officer could be feeling good when they have to fire live rounds, even in self-defense.

Talking is good, and it does work most of the time, but you said it, there are just people out there who are way too stubborn and don't know what's good for them and the safety of others around them, that's when other non-lethal alternatives have to be sought in order to subdue the trouble-makers.
Honestly, if some wacko is threatening someone with a knife, I would hope the cop has the gun out. You just do not take the risk that the taser doesnt work, doesnt have an effect or the criminal can stab someone before the taser can be utilized. If someone's life is in danger, you take the attacker down with the gun.

Taser is for people resisting or fighting in a non-lethal situation, such as this stupid woman.

Agree 100%. If I was a cop, and a guy is coming straight at me with a knife, he is going to get shot.

It means I'd probably scream like a little girl if I was hit with one of those things.
I have a friend that is going thru the police academy right now. They go thru a thing where they all get tazered. He said that everybody that gets hit with one of those things screams like a little girl.

Well really what can you expect if you don't obey a police officer's order?

Was the taser necessary in our eyes?# Probably not....but cops have got to be extra careful in this day of age.# Lady could just driven off, killing somone, or who knows she could just busted out a gun.

on the other hand......Most annoying sound EVER !!!

If they taser everyone who doesn't jump out of the car immediately when asked then they must be tasering a lot of people. Probably have to keep a small nuclear reactor in the trunk so they can constantly be recharging them.
Did you even watch the video? Could you not see that she was STILL talking on the phone after she got pulled over and was giving the officer attitude left, right, and center when he told her to put the phone down? If there's anyone who deserves to get tazed it'd be her.

When you get pulled over, the proper procedure is to park it, turn off igition, leave your seatbelt on, roll down the window all the way and put your hands on the wheel 10 and 2. Don't reach for the licence and registration until he asks you to do so and tell him exactly where you are going to reach for them. It eases the officer's mind when you are co-operative and heck, if you weren't going that fast and behave like a good citizen should instead of giving him more trouble than necessary he might even let you off with a warning if he's on a call or something. I am speaking from personal experience here. Treat people with courtesy and you will receive the same in return more often than not.

It's people who thinks the laws in this country that gives them the freedom and liberty to live without fear, should also automatically give them the all mighty rights to verbally abuse the men & women of law enforcement, these people are the ones who deserves every volt coming to them in the form of a taser gun.

In simpler terms don't be a bitch and you won't be bitch-slapped, such a simple concept yet there are people out there who still don't get it. [/b][/quote]
Laugh. She was giving him attitude? And not only on the left and right but also in the center?

The guy is a cop, not a 5 year-old. If he can't take that much "attitude" without pulling out the weapons then he is in the wrong business.

I agree, you should treat people with courtesy. Unfortunately, not all people are courteous. Cops, I'm quite sure, run into people several times a day who have a lot more to offer than bad manners but we don't hear of them giving the jolt to every criminal they meet who doesn't immediatly comply to all orders.
