This schedule worked fine for me seeing as my earliest class is 1pm.
I know that the bylaw is on their side and there is little I can do with respect to that, but I don't think you guys understand just how loud they are. When I say they are hammering, they are often hammering metal. Metal hitting metal isn't a pleasant sound to hear after 3 hours of sleep.
I started this thread to see what kind of noise is acceptable at 7:30, it says nothing about the level of noise on the bylaw information, just that you're allowed to start construction at 7:30.

when we started at 7am it was game on... 2 big skytrack fork lifts, compressors, nail guns, hammering, etc.
one of my job sites was right beside an apparent, many others were in residential areas - i know the people weren't happy with us - but we had a job to do

The construction workers might be contracted by company for our latest building at UBC. I am going to commend them for starting work on time and helping us finish our building on time and allowing our customers to occupy their residence on the declared on date.
Thank you for confirming our guys are starting when they say they are.

This sucks, but you probably have to just make the best of it. Why not move your studying to the morning? IE go to sleep right when you get home, and do your studying in the morning. You're going to be up early anyway, and you can probably find a quiet library somewhere. You'll be up at least 2 hours of sleep, which gets you to 5. Not great, but a hell of a lot better than 3.

I've always been a night owl, its hard to explain but something about the night really helps me focus on what i'm doing. I guess I can try to change as it seems this will last a while. I've had this schedule for three years now.
And to the guy talking about construction at UBC, I don't live on campus, I live in Kits.

Time to man up. Quit your night job and go work for them. You'll save money on gas. And when you really can't wake up in time for their 7:30 am start, you just sleep in. Since you were smart enough to take the keys home with you no one will be starting up the machines while you are getting that extra hour of sleep that you need.

What the hell is this? Seriously, is this your modus operandi?
You: Post useless throw-away bait.
Someone else calls you on it, putting in either equal or more effort than you did.
You: Mock on their lack of substance in their reply, ignoring that your original post was useless to begin with.
Damn paste-eating troll.

What all construction workers should do is go around to all neighborhoods at all their jobs and figure out the sleeping patterns of everyone and plan their work days around that.

Press a speaker to the wall and start blasting Rebecca Black's FRIDAY at obscene hours.
Except for the whole "then you'd actually be violating noise by-laws" thing.

Yeah that's exactly what I am getting at. Quit patronizing me, I made this thread to find out if others have had a similar situation and what they would do about it.
Today I had my neighbours bring it up and they also feel like its excessively loud. I'm not the only one annoyed by this.
You'd think if the noise a person makes negatively affects 4 different houses there would be a solution to this, but I guess there isn't.

Probably not going to do much for you, but maybe white noise and/or noise cancelling headphones?

Regarding the bolded part- keep in mind that with any thread there is to be a certain level of this to be expected. Even as a moderator I am not immune. Part of what makes CP what it is happens to be the "locker room" feel to it. Don't take what has been said so personally, and enjoy the thread.
Having said that, I used to be a night person so I can appreciate what you are going through. However I still think the best solution is going by one morning with a dozen donuts and that Tim Hortons "coffee for 10" deal- and ask them if there is any way they could put the noisier stuff off for a bit. I don't see any other real option, no matter how many others might also feel the same way.
