Box sucks compared to Dropbox. I know Dropbox doesn't offer as much space, but at least you can generate public links to your stuff.

What exactly is the point of sharing files if I can't actually share them unless I pay?

Yeah. If you sign into your Box account on your phone, you automatically get 50GB.

I use box when I have ridiculous sized video files to edit and I'm working with 3 or more people. I don't want my dropbox clogged up as it is the better product.

Have things changed with Box? When I signed up, the file size limit was 100MB. Have they opened up this restriction?

I signed up last fall to get the 50GB total storage. What I was asking about was the file size limitation that Box had before. Originally, the free account gave you 5GB of storage with a maximum file size of 25MB. During the promotion, they gave you 50GB of storage and increased the file size limits to 100MB.

When you mentioned that you shared video files for editing, I assumed that your files were greater than 100MB in size. If this is true, does it mean that Box has changed their file size limits to be greater than 100MB or are the files you are working on less than 100MB?

Dropbox has no file size limitation as far as I know which is one of the reasons I prefer it over other free cloud storage solutions.

Each video file must be 100mb or less! Oh crap! I've set up this workflow without knowing this! ha ha ha Here I thought I was being soooooo clever. I should contact the two to make sure everything is going through! Thanks for posting this! At least it explains the short video clips. ha ha man that is funny.

Just checked the account and yes, it is a 100 MB limit. That is hidden well. You have to search the to find it. I tried putting in a 500 MB file and it won't let me and doesn't tell you the limit. It just says upgrade!

Yep. Lots of space, no features.

Dropbox is way better, and their prices to upgrade for more space are reasonable.

Dropquest II is coming on May 12. Finish it and receive 1GB. Finish first and get an extra 100GB. I know some of you did the quest last year and thought you may be interested again.

I don't know if I'm for the quest this year for an extra 1GB.

Their black ops team estimates it won't be completed in under 5 hours.

I'll probably pass on that.
