Brackets on the end would be easy because you could build a frame around the picture and put the brackets the proper way on the edge of the frame hiding them a bit. But it might look pretty goofy with a frame inside of a larger picture frame

Please don't show that to my employer. They'll never let me leave.

I found that on google as well. Not one that works in the bar area. One door in and out. Would work great going into the bathroom laundry room though! Wife would not be happy

Why not one that drops down from the ceiling? Though I guess if you put the cables at the corners that'd interfere with play.

This is what I would try and do. Make the cables are thick and strong as possible so when you inevitably do hit them from time to time they don't swing.
I would also try and put the 4 cables as close to the net as possible.

Put some kind of track lighting system on it or something.

One piece playing surface with permanent net mounted.

Ascension from floor via hydraulics.

= King.

I thought of this as well, however the whole table would sway which would be annoying.

What about instead of a folding or detachable leg(s) you use a cable from the ceiling to support the far side. This way the table is still solid to the wall on sliders but supported on the outside by 1 or 2 cables. You could just buy gray closeline cable and rig some sort of pulley/winch system from the ceiling.

If you go with a hinge approach, you could simply not have the hinges attached to the table... and have a slot in the table where the hinges slide into. (do a false-back on the table, that way you can put whatever picture/mural/etc on the back that you want)

So basically when you have the table against the wall, resting on the hinges, gravity's holding it there (you'd need to have a hook/pin/something to hold it vertical against the wall for safety)... and then when you tip it horizontal, you just slide it off the hinge; get hinges that lock at 90degrees if you want to make it easier to slide the table back onto them.

This approach seems simple to use & install to me.

But where does it slide away from the wall? By unhooking the hinge and just having legs? The folding from wall is the easy part. It is having it slide away from the wall that is the tricky part

Yeah if you're doing this you need it to look and work slick as hell. If it doesn't, you'll just look like a total knob for having a ping pong table hanging on your wall.

I'm going to try to make an excuse to go to Princess Auto at work today to look around for something for this. I'll let you know if I find anything.
