Attendance last night was 7460. Sounds like the team lost some die hard fans? I haven't gone to a game yet this year, but it sounds like they changed the goal song as well, which was one of my favorite parts of the game.

Can anyone who's gone to a game this year comment on any changes in the experience?

Roughnecks were robbed last night IMHO. Under the new rules player are allowed to pick the up the ball immediately on a possession change. Last night the Rock had an over/back violation with their goalie pulled- Mike Carnegie made a huge head's up play to get to the ball first and fire it in the empty net. Refs whistled the play down and no one seems to know way.

That same possession with Calgary trying to hang on to the two goal lead Curtis Dickson was horse collared in transition- no call. Toronto gets the ball and scores a goal to make it a one goal game.

Horrible work by the refs. Calgary had the win taken away from them by shoddy officiating.

Yeah, I was wondering about both plays. Dickson getting thrown down by the jersey without a call was an effing joke. I sincerely hope the Roughnecks were on the phone to the league after that.

And Sherminator - I wasn't at last nights game, but I was at the Colorado one last week. The crowd normal last week. While I'm sure with an announced crowd that low, it was smaller yesterday, I suspect that real attendance isn't off much. The Bannister Roughnecks had a habit of inventing attendance figures. It never mattered how many people were actually there, they always announced a little over 10,000. From what I've heard, real attendance never approached that total.

They also gave STHs a "bring a friend" ticket for the first game, so there is a good chance that there were a number that used it. The lower bowl seemed a bit more empty this last game compared to the first, but the atmosphere was pretty good...except when the refs were being idiots, and everyone was wondering what was going on.

Oh ya, and that badger still creeps me out.

Toronto always gets the calls, no shock here. It annoys me everytime i watch a game featuring the "can do nothing wrong Rock", but the roughnecks still have to close out games better...

Sold result tonight, though a less than solid effort I thought. The Roughnecks were fantastic for 10 minutes of the 2nd and 10 minutes of the 4th, but otherwise were mediocre and often outworked. They were fortunate to be playing Edmonton, and not someone good.

i thought the effort was fine but for a lot of the game, the execution was lacking. good to see them finish a game that was close in the 4th

The Roughnecks are just kicking the crap out of Colorado right now. 12-1 early in the third.

No, that is not a typo.

Shawn Williams joins an elite company with his 1000th NLL point tonight. Only 5 other guys have done it.

I was excited to hear that sportsnet was going to broadcast some NLL games, but this quality is atrocious.

Well that was a really odd game. Not sure if half of those penalties should have been called; a lot of them seemed really weak. First time I have seem a goaltender in the penalty box though...the amount of space he took up was hilarious.

New reffing crew at the dome on Saturday. For the first 3 quarters it seemed like they must have had some money down on the Rush.

I get really frustrated with some of the dives the Roughnecks take though. Dobbie, Evans and Ranger all go down pretty easy.

Went to the game Saturday night.

The Safeway vouchers for $20 are rush seating, and we got in section 104 about 16 rows up. Great value for the seats IMO. Was a good atmosphere as well.

Happy with the win, although I was a few beers down so by the 4th quarter I wasn't paying much attention to the game.

I was a big fan of ref #27 both tripping a player attempting to catch the Edmonton player, and then later actually picking another to prevent him from recovering a loose ball - and leading to a break up the floor that Edmonton scored on. Just an all around poorly officiated game.

But not as bad as Edmonton's jerseys. WTF was that?

Disappointing aspects of the game was Mike Carnegie driving a Rush player into the boards from behind, and Brodie Macdonald with that vicious slash. As amusing as it was watching a goalie end up in the penalty box, I actually think that both plays should have carried game misconducts, and both should be suspended. I would classify both as attempts to injure.

Well, tonight was a complete gong show. Easy 17-6 win, and Buffalo completely lost it at the end. Remember the Flames-Ducks brawl when Berube jumped Friesen? Yeah... And the only reason Buffalo did it is because they were pissed that we embarrassed them on the scoreboard.

Well, after abandoning this thread for the last month and a half, I thought I should tell everybody the Roughnecks lost a hard fought contest to the Edmonton Rush tonight 19-11 in the West Division Semi Final. The Rush will advance to the West Final. Good luck Edmonton.

Well that game can be summed up with the following: our goalie scored on himself.

Between the defensive breakdowns and the desire to pass instead of shoot (and miss the pass anyway), the Necks didn't really look like they wanted to win it...too bad it was against Edmonton.

Looks like Minnesota won their game, so it will be Edmonton vs Minnesota in the division final.

11,000 at a playoff game is not a good sign for the franchise.
