Line of the night at my house:

Little kid: "Is there a witch in the house?"
Me: "No, she's out trick or treating with the kids"

The best part is he was so little he had no idea why I was laughing at my own reply.

last year we gave play dough and this year the gf is giving bubbles.

It's funny when one little gaffer said "last year they gave me play dough and now I get bubbles?!"

We are that "uncool" house

I just remember being a kid, and how awesome it was to get a full sized bar. For an extra few bucks it's totally worth it.
I've never given out full bars, but I usually grope the candy dish with my massage man hands and end up giving each kid 5-7 little bars. I love the looks on the little ones faces when they've hit the jackpot.

The Oh Henry's? Those... those are MMF's.

We've given out full size bars for a while. It was easy to do when we have 15 or so kids come but we're at 70 so far this year and it's a little pricey (ontrack for 100 or so).

Our choice - Mr Big. Optically one of the bigger bars out there, you get mega street cred. Alex Ovechkin features prominently on each bar this year and they're called "Mr Big Deal!"

Seventh or eighth straight year with no one showing up at our house in the country, in spite of two sets of twins just down the hill and five kids a little higher up (Mormons though . . . does that make a difference?)

Being paranoid, however, we stock up, just in case . . . . so, for the seventh or eight straight year, we'll have to eat all that chocolate ourselves.

Only 5 at my place in Altadore so far...would it be weird if I put a sign out front trying to lure kids to my house?

I also remember as a kid have one family in my town that sang Christian songs all night on their front lawn and handed out Bibles.

I ran out of candy tonight. Shocked, totally shocked, and completely disappointed as I had saved the candy I liked best, assuming I would have tons left over. I've never run out of candy before, ever. Don't know where the influx of children came from this year, but my goodness, I am craving a mini Kit Kat bar right now.

I had to turn my lights off at 815pm. Disappointing. I only had one group of rude teens, who just yelled Food when I opened the door. They got a blank stare from me. The other teens were polite so they got candy. I figure if you are going door to door and are uncomfortably past prime trick or treating time, you are going to work for these cheap little mini chocolate bars I bought. Egg my house, I don't care, ya little #######. You can at least say Trick or Treat.

3 boxes gone this year (each box had 94 bars) Way too many kids in my area.

Record turnout for me- 38 kids. I was down to 3 full sized bars.

As for the cost- if you shop around you can get them for around 60¢ each. So for a $30 investment I had 4 kids say "oh wow- we got big bars; so awesome." Plus there is the ones who will not notice until they get home and the parents ask where they got those.

As MMF said he gives out several of the small bars; so even giving out just 3 I'd be saving a few cents per kid. I could maybe save $10; or I can be the cool guy. (For once.)

68 kids here in Cranston. Pretty normal, if not a little low.

Oh, and my kid got 3 full size bars. At least nobody did the full size cans of grape pop this year. That stuff is like meth for 4 year olds.

Got shutout here in Canyon Meadows, but none of the units on either side of us had any decorations up and maybe 1 in 10 in our complex had anything up. We only bought about 30 pieces of candy so not a big investment, but dissapointing.

Thinking some bigger/brighter decorations next year and a small bowl of full size bars, reward any kids that do show.
