As a 28 year old who still fits the same clothes I bought when I was 14... yeah Moores doesn't work very well. Before H&M / Zara etc. appeared I couldn't fit any of the shirts I bought in Canada. Had to buy a boxful from Hong Kong every year.

Like SCUD says - the Hudson Room shirts from the Bay are pretty decent shirts for about $45-55 per.

Plus you're Asian. So if you wore a boys size from Moores you'd probably still want it altered.

That just makes me think of Tom Haverford from Parks and Rec:
"Brooks Brothers Boys, it's like the cuts are slimmer, and it's cheaper. Win win"

I will sell you Leo Chevalier Wrinkle Resistant (pull them out of a warm dryer and u won't be ironing them) for 50 bucks. The family has been selling dress shirts (among other clothes) for 49 years and Leo's are the best out there for the price.

Figured I'd throw a clothing related question out there. Does anyone know where to buy a full length top coat?
This is what I'm talking about.

I buy almost all my dress shirts from the Bay now.
I found the zara and banana shirts don't last as long. I also have problems finding a size that fits me and isn't too tight around the neck if I need to wear a tie.
The Bay has a lot of sales for dress shirts. At the moment, they have
Buy 1 - 25% off
Buy 2 - 30% off
Buy 3 - 40% off
most dress shirts. Depending on which brand you go with, it could as cheap as $35 a shirt.
Their hudson room line don't go on sale, but it's $50 for a dress shirt. They have both fitted and non-fitted shirts.
Downtown Bay has a lot of sizes as well, I don't have a problem finding my size. If you don't know your exact measurements, the sales people there can measure you out.

As an aside, I love the clssic look of those coats; however, they are a PITA when you are getting in and out of vehicles as the bottow always drags - I find that a 3/4 coat (something like a Navy peacoat) is almost as nice, and a little more versatile......

For shirts I buy them all over the place.
Nothing would fit me off the rack (I doubt anything fits anyone). I just look for a good fit initially (collar and chest) and then take it to my tailor to get the sleeves shortened, and tailored more to my body in general.
What are everyone's recomendations for pants?
I've tried on so many pairs and can never seem to find a great fit without spending an insane amount of $$.
I prefer something a little slimmer and fitted than the typical stuff found at the Bay etc.

I should put in a plug for Eddie Bauer no-Iron dress shirts. They are very comfortable and come in a lot of different colours/patterns. I find them perfect for business casual attire. They are also very long lasting and do go on sale regularly.

All my shirts come custom made from tailors in Hong Kong. $50 each. You will not get a better fitting shirt. I have a 30 inch waist and workout a lot. Any off the rack shirt that fits me in the shoulders results in a huge amount of fabric in the waist.
Plus with custom shirts you can get the colors, fabric, etc... made just the way you like it. I have no idea why anyone would ever get anything else. After wearing the custom made shirts for the last two years, I simply cannot wear a store bought shirt. Even the expensive ones ($100-$200) just don't fit well and look like like crap.
I used these guys last time. (although maybe they were having a sale as I only paid $350 for 7 shirts, and they list higher prices now)
http://www.himarkmartintailors.com/?...FQx3gwodjXhVsA
Also go a custom suit from them for $500-$600.

Sales or eBay. I'm not just going to walk into Brooks Brothers and drop $700 on an overcoat. If you want something good, you just bide your time. Like in the other thread, I was talking about my $500 shoes or whatever, I got them for something like $150, barely used on eBay. "Caviar tastes" is affordable if you are willing to devote the time to educate yourself, and wait for something good.

Bumping this old thread for advice, specifically for a fat **** like myself. I need roomier shirts for the gut, but then when they have that the arms are too long. Advice? Any good tailors to recommend? Or places to get custom tailored shirts in Calgary?

Funny, I have a huge neck (apparently). Whenever I go to the Mr. Big and Tall shop, they measure my neck and tell me I wear like a size 60 (I actually don't know which size in numbers, but for conversation's sake, let's say 3XL tall.) I try to explain, they hand me waaay to big clothes...... blah blah. That's why I don't shop there anymore. And I hate salesman who stick to you like glue.
I usually wear a XXL tall, sometimes get away with XL tall.
Marks is where I mostly shop now. And I just don't do up top buttons.

I might have already said this - or maybe someone else did. But for clothes I pretty much only buy in the states. Last two big trips I've done to the states I've bought a ton of clothes and the savings are so good that it's easily covered the cost of my trip (and this isn't a driving few day trip or quick flight to vegas, although if quick vegas trip you'd likely come out ahead).
