Well Quebec historically has the lowest tuition in Canada.

BC has far more generous social programs.

Most provinces are deep in debt.

Alberta could afford to have lower tuition than Quebec or more generous social programs than BC. The government we have elected has chosen other priorities.

Yes Alberta is lucky, it's a easier to not make hard decisions when you know an extra checque will be arriving in the mail.

I'm not sure whether or not you're talking about the equalization cheque other provinces receive from Ottawa or the oil royalty cheque the Alberta government receives.

Are you saying it's reprehensible that they got the money, or that we didn't? We can complain if they get it and we don't, but that doesn't mean they didn't deserve it.

That's kind of a double standard though, isnt it?

Albertans have been complaining for years that we are paying too much, and we simply get labled whiners and greedy.

McGuinty very, very effectively manipulated a crumbling government into giving him back $6 billion, and they deserved it?

If this deal does go through, Albertans will be paying twice as much per person to the Feds as Ottawa will.

I would suggest that Alberta deserved a break even before Ontario got this deal.
