And Andy Murray is struggling now too. Rough Friday afternoon session at Flushing Meadows that's for sure.

Young choked it away, 5th set tiebreak!

Pospisil is in a 3rd set tiebreak, served for the set at 5-3 and failed

Murray sucks in grand slams.

This Stosur-Kirilenko 2nd set tiebreak is insane.

It's 14-14! Kirilenko would have lost 3 times already if they didn't have the challenge system in place! The linesman called out 3 times on match point and she challenged all 3 times.

15-15 now!

ooooh finally! Kirilenko wins 17-15... onto set 3!

That was an insane tiebreak. So much drama. 3 reviews reversing calls. One of those being a match point. Unreal!!

I think all of them were match point! Glad tennis has a great replay system.

Would love to watch the third set of that match, but they're showing the first set of Zvonareva/Lisicki. BRUTAL!!

I hope they at least show the last game or two of that one.

They're on sere in the third, Kirilenko up 2-1.

As nice as that Armstrong court setup is, its location is horrible given all of the music and noise coming from Ashe. Stosur double faulted in that tiebreak while you could clearly hear some girl screeching out part of the American Anthem on Ashe. So distracting.

It's not the setup it's the stupid singing. Why are they singing between matches?

All the tennis complexes have courts close to each other.

I know that, though it might have made more sense to put some of the small courts in between to buffer that a bit. Such is the price you pay to entertain the fans between matches, I suppose.

Hello from the US open. Went to the afternoon game. Watched Nadal and Andy today. Both were dominant in their games. Andy played great, played a great short game and he was very happy on how he played. Going again tomorrow hope to see some great matches.

Djokovic and Dogopolov just had another epic tiebreak. Djokovic won 16-14. Couple of ridiculous rallies during that one too.

Nine hours of tennis that is one long day. Was really hoping Fish would pull it off, oh well. Another thing I was pissed about is they had Djokovic playing on Louis Armstrong so I never had a chance to see him. He's number 1 he should have been playing on Ashe. All and all it was a great time. I still think Joker will win it all and Serena will take it for the women she looked great today.

back to Resolute's favourite topic: court scheduling.

Rain is predicted to be in NYC around 11pm (and then stay there for 2 days) but the only court in use right now is Ashe. Because putting either Wozniaki or Federer on Armstrong just to get the match complete before the rain is a stupid idea because of tv right?

Especially since Federer and Monaco just started 15 minutes ago. Seriously, 11:50 PM ET start time? On the bright side, it looks like Federer is going to wrap this up in about an hour and half.

Edit: or less. Federer wins the first set 6-1 in 19 minutes.
