I remember when I used to dread looking for large shoes. I could find sneakers alright for my size 15 EEE Extra Wide feet, but a guy needs more than just sneakers all the time. Stores gave me the same run around too about ordering the shoes in, paying shipping and the like.
I was pumped when I found XLfeet.com. Not only do they have an actual store in my area - I live in the Minneapolis, St Paul Twin City Area - they refuse to carry a shoe either on their website or in the store, unless it is made to at least a 15/16. Heaven!!
The guy who owns it wears size 16 Wide, and he knows exactly, and I mean exactly what we go through. He had everything too. Slippers, socks, insulated rubber boots, work boots with composite toe, cleats, golf shoes. I could go on, and frankly I almost want to get a tattoo that says XLfeet on my back.
I always thought a store like that was more like fantasy. I even brought my grandpa in who also has big ones, and he told me he hadn't been able to try on that many big mens shoes for nearly 60 years.
When I was there I ended getting these
Florsheim Corvell Black Slip On Dress Shoes Size 15 EEE Extra Wide. They look sweet, and He had all kinds of socks that actually fit. I got some of the low cut no show socks. It's awesome to finally have some low cut socks that actually stay on. The ones i used to wear would slide down to the middle of my foot with just a few paces. The Wigwam Socks I got though stay up, and they have vents which wick the moisture up and out of my shoes.
I know i went a bit long, but you have to admit. Us tall guys with big feet have it so bad. Or at least we used to. When they say "Fitting extra large feet is no extra large feat", they mean it.
