Anyone having issues with activating their online pass? On the XBox version I select the button at the top that says "Activate Online Pass" and it goes to a new screen but there's nothing there for me to do. Has anyone got theirs working? I tried just activating via the "Activate Code" menu option in the XBox menu but it says it's invalid.

That's bizarre since all codes should be working now. You may have to contact EA Support.

It's probably more accurate as is, it's almost guaranteed that the announcers for the first few regular season games will completely blow the explanation of the OT rules.

I'm giving it a giant "meh" so far. Jumped right into franchise mode last night and started playing on All-Pro. The cut days are pretty cool and the defense is a lot crisper now, but we're back to the offensive line playing like god damn ######s again. It makes the running game incredibly difficult when you try to trail a blocker and he just runs forward without actually trying to block anyone. Pass protection is pretty brutal too but I'm hoping I can get better with my line adjustments to improve it.

Ugh, so we're back to Madden 08/09 again are we? Where there's pretty much no point running the ball? That's what got me off the series in the first place.

Was just gonna buy it, but think I may rent it first now..

I dunno I am doing a superstar RB and over 2 games I have 201 yards rushing and 2 TD's.

Running seems fine to me. I am on the Bears if it matters.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's just a matter of getting used to it or not. I did manage a nice 20-yard TD run with McCoy but that was about it. The thing that made me almost slam my controller down was when I was running behind a guard that was pulling and he ran right by a defender without even attempting a block, resulting in my RB getting tackled behind the LOS.

Had another instance where I ran a screen pass and about 3 linemen failed to block one linebacker.

The running game for me isn't that difficult, but it does have it's blocking issues still. Granted this is on All-Pro and haven't step up to All-Madden yet, but I'm usually able to pull off some decent gains. The outside runs like tosses and such though seem to very difficult since there's always one player that screws up on picking up an obvious block though. Inside seems to be the safest best. I don't know if I mentioned this already but I'm finding the draw plays very effective against pass defense formations.

even in the demo (all-pro) it was annoying how often the O-line would release their blocks early, just as my back was passing thru a hole.

Nothing brings my piss to a boil more than when that happens on a screen pass. That should be the next thing EA works on for next year, making the OL more realistic. They're like a bunch of brainless zombies right now.

If the running is back in the tank again, I wonder if one of the reasons you're struggling with it is because of McCoy. He reminds me of a Reggie Bush type in terms of size, and as the Saints I could NEVER run with Bush in 08/09. Scatbacks were just useless (or any run not right up the gut), it was so frustrating. But if I were say, Steven Jackson, as long as I did up the gut runs all day I could usually get 4-5 yards consistently.

I hope that's not the case though. I love dangling with scatbacks in '11, they're awesome in that. Shotgun draw ftw.

You guys playing All-Pro and All-Madden, I struggle with anything less then that. Same goes for NHL games.

Could someone give me the skinnies on how to play this game? I can't seem to master the controls, there're so many of them. Thanks.

I score virtually at will with the running game on All Pro. I had to tune up the D. I found passing a little harder. To each their own... use the sliders to make the game challenging but not too hard.

I'm playing All-Pro right now and it's a struggle to score. I've been into overtime once and won by 1 point a couple of times.

I like close games so much more. It actually makes you stratagize more and think about your plays more.

I'm the Falcons BTW. So on offense it's relatively easy to score, but more difficult for me to stop them from scoring.

LOVE the hitting engine.

Could someone please tell me why I don't get the latest roster on Franchise Mode? I play the Pats and I don't get Occhocinco or Fat Albert on it. But when I play online mode, I get Occhocinco but still no Fat Albert. Thanks.

So I seem to have figured out the running game and I'm enjoying this thing a lot more. Deep passes are definitely much harder and require a lot more finesse than in previous versions. Pre-snap adjustments in this game are huge.

Are you downloading the roster from the online menu, and then go into franchise mode right after? It uses the current loaded rosters when you start the mode.

So anyone play on the All Madden settings against the comp? After 5 straight Super Bowls in Madden'11 I finally made the jump, man is it frustrating.

I don't have a problem with a QB always finding the open man, but its not even that. It just seems to make it as hard as possible for you to win, with weird, glitchy crap. Some examples I found, in only 2 games:

- I'm playing against an RB with only 47 strength. Yet he breaks the first tackle against my big LB's, Every. Single. Time. Like wtf??? He's a scatback, make him dance around me, at least its realistic. No f'n way he should be bowling over LB's every play.

- WR's running into each other on routes. Never seen that happen more than once or twice on All Pro. Saw it a handful of times that first game. 3rd & long & my 2 idiot WR's ran into each other just as the ball was coming & blew what would've been a first down.

- Pass rush can't stay upright. Through drafting I've got 2 sick DE's, but now on All Madden any time I bring them on an outside speed rush, they slip & fall down. I'd wager 4/5 times they'll just eat grass. Makes sense...

- Crazy penalties. Was in a one possession game, and on ALL 3 of my 4th Q possessions, they flagged me for a holding call on the return, putting me within my own 10. Always the comp controlled guy too, c'mon man.

- DROPS. My receivers had 7 drops in one game. 7. I've never had more than like 3-4, ever. The game ended on back to back inexplicable drops by wideopen targets on 3rd & 4th down, one of which was a smoke route in the flats by my RB which would've been a 90 yard game-tying TD for sure.

Is All Madden always like that?? I just thought it'd be like taking on mid-2000's era Manning every game, or the 2000 Ravens D, but not all this stupid crap happening. I'm fine with getting outplayed, but at least try & make it realistic, and fair.

/rant. Haha I forgot how much these Madden games get my pi$$ boiling.

EDIT: 3 games in, 3rd game was the worst so far. 6 drops, 10 penalties/115yds, all by drones. I'm done, F*** you EA!! I should mention this is Madden'11, I really hope 12 isn't like that.

Yeah, All-Madden was a waste of time in '11, but I even found All-Pro would make the vein in my forehead stand out at times. Haven't tried All-Madden in '12 yet, but I'm pretty much crushing the AI on All-Pro every game so I may have to soon.
