Why are people upset at this? We dumped a guy that is a good D prospect but is obviously selfish in attitude and we get an offensive centre prospect and two 2nd rnd picks in the upcoming draft when we had zero. We are essentially getting 3 bluechip prospects for one sure fire prospect instead of losing him for nothing. I applaud Feaster in his job to turn this situation into something good. Well done!

Agreed. It is a very nice return, potentially.
2nd round picks are good for moving up in the first round. Makes me wonder if that is part of the strategy. Obviously not the reason for not signing and consequently dealing Erixon, but maybe a targeted return that he had in mind.

I am jealous of the Rangers abundance of young NHL-caliber defensemen.

Probably passed on Calgary so that he didn't have to go to Edmonton and Winnipeg three times a year each!

No doubt Feaster made the best of a bad situation and it's better than a compensatory pick but the Rangers got the best player in the deal right now and the 2nd rounders in a meh draft while better than nothing will need one of them at least to be gems to turn this deal into the Flames favor.

Dreger says the Rangers had Erixon ranked as top 10 if he were to go back to this years draft.
Think Feaster did okay in terms of return for a player who didn't want to be here. He basically more than doubled what he was going to get if Erixon went back to the draft.

Well it looks like Erixon wasn't someone the Flames want in their organization anyway.

Well this kid is actually the type of prospect the Flames don't have a lot of - a skilled forward and a guy they probably saw a lot of. I imagine this would have come from a recommendation from the scouting staff. However pretty clear he's a boom/bust type of guy - which is fine.
Two 2nds and a prospect is a lot better than a late 2nd.
Just a cruddy situation overall though - not sure where things went sideways - but when you look at the history of Erixon's agent - this stuff has happened before.
Move on - make some quality picks with your 2nds and see what happens.

I am not really that vindictive usually, but I am on the same page as many here, am now harbouring illwill towards Erixon.

Yeah I'm not surprised and it's probably the reason the Flames got two 2nd rounders as the Rangers didn't want to risk another team picking him before 15th. He's probably the prospect that every team wanted in trade talks with the Flames. Looks like he may be a good one but it's a shame about the attitude.

How does someone who has never played an NHL game get to decide where they play? Sounds like this kid is a prima donna. Good riddance!

Good on Feaster for making something happen and getting 2 2nds and a prospect. Sucks to lose Erixon, but it sounds like he's been at odds with the Flames for awhile.
It's even refreshing to get a Euro forward with a lazy streak instead of a "Big Western canadian boy who's physical but can't skate".

Kudos to Feaster, IMO this is Sutter's fault. At least Feaster got some assets out of this mess. Very disappointed in Erixon though, hopefully we draft someone that will crush him.
