Richard wasn't there when I took the class, but I managed to work with him when he was a producer at CJAY and Vibe.

Thing is for me, I chased that carrot, and hated what it made me become. Getting out of the industry when I did in 2006 was one of the hardest things to do. I worked in the banking industry for three years, and always itched to get back in. I'm based in a small market outside of Calgarty right now, and love it.

Who knows if I'll ever get back into major market. But I know I'm happy now, but it took finding myself down some dark avenues to get there. But I'm a husband and father now, and as Jiri said... it's not the easiest path, but that's my job. I just go play for 8 hours a day now, and collect the paycheque that comes with it.
Where abouts are you working? I see a few jobs for techs popping up these days for small towns around Calgary and they are kind of tickling my interest. I have a young family and even though I earn decent coin I will never be able to afford a decent home here in vancouver. I am at the point that smaller towns are appealing to me to provide my kids with a better life style.

I chased the cash and position for years and now that I have the fancy title and corner office I realize it means squat when I get home. It was a fun ride though...

Been there, done that, got the diploma.

Really disliked most of the course and was turned off from the industry entirely as a result. Not a fan of the instructors, or the courses. Everything is dragged out ridiculous amounts... if you consider yourself intelligent or even marginally good with computers it's stuff that would take MAX one year to learn dragged out.

I didn't go into the industry myself, but I'm glad I finished because I'm using my diploma to go back to University this fall and complete my communications degree. I graduated two years ago, and worked at a job that has paid me more and not forced me to move away so I could save up for it.

From the people I'm still in touch with, I'll tell you that the Broadcast News students are by far the most successful of all the graduates so far. If you're interested in going into sports broadcasting, that'd be the way to go for sure.
